Does this sole look like a genuine Clarks?

Hi all, I bought a pair of Clarks suede biker style boots off ebay, brand new. Arrived today - they are nice but the sole looks a bit odd to me (see pic attached). Too smooth when biker boots normally have ridges. And no Clarks logo.

What are your thoughts on this as I'm unsure what to do?

No they don't really. When you google Suede Clark's Biker Boots, the buckles seem to be more sturdy looking too.

Very good point about the buckles! They are quite flimsy and rattle when I walked around in them Hmm

The insole says Clarks but still not convinced!

I have those boots-the suede upper looks the same but the soles are completely different they have big chunky grips

Usually it has the European size on the bottom too.

Just dragged them out of the wardrobe and they're not the same style on closer inspection

Yes - that is what I expected them to look like! They sell fake Clarks now... Who knew?! All the ebay boards say Clarks aren't widely faked but I'm not convinced now. Thanks for digging those out to send me a photo Flowers

They look like the sole has been replaced/re-heeled to me. Doesn't mean they're fake but probably means they're at least not new!

MrsReacher - yes that is what I thought when I first saw them, although the earlier comment about the buckles being flimsy did make me question their legitimacy. However, even if they are genuine, I did not pay top whack for a re-heeled shoe Blush

I'd suggest popping in to a Clark's store and asking their opinion, or emailing them with this photo attached. I only get kids' shoes out of Clarks so not much help.

Though I do have a pair of biker boots from Dorothy Perkins that have a smooth bottom, so not all boots will have ridges.

what name style are they - if they are the ones I have then they should be ridged and not smooth

Can you post a pic of the insole. It's not a sole I recognise.

This is the insole. Hard to get a decent pic as it is a calf length boot and it is dark in there.
Yes I think it should be ridged too.
Seller is basically cheesed off I want a refund. She said I should have asked about the sole before purchasing (she didn't post any pics of the sole in the listing) and she hasn't misdescribed it...basically I have to lump it. Will open a case on this.

Smilingeyes - yes they look very similar to thise... but the ones I bought are more beige and have a dodgy looking sole

I don't think yours are genuine in that case. The above ones were new about 3-4 years ago I think - am not sure if they did them in beige.

I think they have been re-soled as well. Seller is saying she bought them brand new yadda yadda. I said the suede looks a bit scuffed up too and she replied "it's because it has a vintage feel"
In a nutshell, she wants me to pay for return postage. She said ebay case may find in her favour and I would then get no refund Hmm

Clarks shoes always have Clarks engraved on the soles I believe. She's trying it on - eBay almost always finds in favour of the buyer so open a case.

Or ebay more likely will find in your favour and you will get refund and postage!! I'd push for postage too.

eBay will make seller pay return postage if you return them. Does her listing say no returns? Is that listing above the one you purchased?

Ebay won't find in her favour because theyr'e fake. The buckles on the picture posted by COllie are totally different.
