Cheers wreck bloody tablet just reset and I lost all my open internet tabs, all the right banking pages etc, very cross! and my unprocessed suttons order, for the best

mammy I made a thick (it set) white sauce, stirred philly into it, and then added chicken and sweetcorn to half for tge dd's, and dhallot, bacon, chicken and mushroom gor us. Rolled up a bit in each and warmed them back up in the oven. Very nice but such a faff!

Here em we have some left while you're waiting!

I know snuggly. I'm willing April to come for NZ but also so sad because in September ds starts school and I don't want it to come! 😭

I've booked to get my hair done next week. Not had it dyed for about a year so is a treat maybe Dh will give me something towards it.

I meant to respond to some bits on the other thread but I've forgotten now 😳

Love the title Wreck thanks for new thread!

I went to Southampton Uni funnily enough, did my nurse training there, most of my placements were in Winchester though. Love it round there, also a big fan of the New Forest.

Find out if dd got her place at the secondary school I wanted tomorrow - eeeek!!!

Tryingtosaveup · 28/02/2017 22:36

Good luck Girlie, hope you get the place you want.
In bed early. No pancakes. Might make some tomorrow though. Too tired tonight.

Oh no, is it secondary school place day tomorrow? Feel a bit sick now, dd2 is going up. We only have one choice, she has to get a place there. We should get sibling, catchment (just!) and feeder school, but 2006 was a boom year, and theres loads that live a lot nearer than us. Fingers crossed for us both girlie and anyone else waiting to hear.

Hi geek welcome! Sounds like a good challenge (not one I can participate in myself as I don't go out to work, although frugal lunch ideas are always appreciated!)

I had no pancakes today. DH made some bright and early before I got up and he left me one, but I didn't eat it Blush. He makes pancakes a lot though (surprisingly good despite needing gluten free flour) so pancake day isn't a massive deal here.

Best of luck to those waiting for school places! Hope you all get the choices you and your DCs want!

Need to up my frugal game in March!

Can somebody please talk me through, in words of one syllable, what exactly happens when you do a 0% balance transfer? Can DH still keep his NatWest one open without using it?

Also realised I still need to get to the bank with ID so they can stop charging me for my bank account. Hmm

Good luck for school places.
No pancakes here. DS has at the child minder as neither ddor I like them.

Your cc debt is on card a. Find a 0% deal and Open on their card we will call card b. You can tell them you want a balance transfer upon application. It can usually be done on opening the card although you might not get enough credit limit to cover the whole debt. Then once card b is open the balance transfer is done automatically.

If you chose not to do it while applying for the card just wait until you have card b and ring card b and say you want a balance transfer on their 0% offer.

Do not do any other spends on card b. Set up payment of at least the min but ideally enough to clear it in the interest free term.

Once the interest free term ends there will be an nterest charge applyed so aim to have it paid off or moved by the end of the period.

Whatever is left on card a aim to pay off asap. Unless you ask to close card a it will remain open and usable. And generating interest.

If you leave card a open and not used check there is not a dormancy fee. Some cards do charge of the card is not used for a year. Some also close the account after so long.

With card a once it's clear I would suggest a DD set up for the full amount and spend a little bit each month/ quarter and pay it straight off.

You could consider reducing card a credit limit to limit spending but you are not guaranteed to have it back.

Let me know if you need any more

No pancakes for us yesterday. Dd isn't fussed and it's football training on a Tuesday so we are out for 2 hours.

Good luck to you guys waiting for school places!

geek good idea re lunches. I aim to have a pack up three times a week as a minimum. I tend to take leftovers from dinner , salads soups, etc. Today I have a leftover jacket potato with cheese and spring onion. We have a microwave at work so will blast it in there.

Going for nsd today. Dh is flying out to London for the night for work. He's just mentioned the "f" word fog

I had a dream last night that the fog came down tomorrow and he couldn't get back here for so ended up staying in the uk to make his flight to nz on Saturday. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.
