Anyone else fresh off the pill!?

Hi ladies!
As my DH and i habe decided to TTC I took the last pill in my packet on 17th December and had my breakthrough bleed start on the 22nd and end on the 26th. Now the wait begins to see whether my cycle snaps back to normal and of course whether I concieve! I had been on microgynon for circa 3 years.

Is anyone else in a similar position and entering 2019 pill free!? I thought this would be a good place to track and share our experiences as they happen!

Hello! I am going to be taking my last pill on Tuesday so very nearly in the same position as you! Been taking it for over 8 years.

Will be great to share experiences with you going forward Smile

I am slightly ahead and had my last microgynon pill in November. Had my withdrawal bleed and then a period in December so hoping my cycle has gone back to normal. Fingers crossed for baby in 2019

Nice to hear from you pumpkinsmum18! I think my concern first and foremost is getting my normal cycle back. A friend of mine came off it and took 6 months to have a period! Fingers crossed we will be more lucky!

Good news on the period @hunny85!
Hopefully you will get a BFP shortly. Are you testing for ovulation etc or just seeing how.it goes for now?

I feel the same peaky - am quite curious as to what my normal cycle actually is as I have been on the pill for so long! Hopefully it won’t take too long to settle.

How old are you? I’m 27.

I'm 28, so we are in a really similar position I guess! Are you planning to track ovulation etc? I think we just want to have plenty of sexy time and see what happens for now as I don't think stress helps. I would consider tracking if we went a few months with no luck mind!

I am just using Flo app for now to see if my cycles return to regular @peaky297 I don’t want to put too much pressure on it by using opk’s etc but will think about it if we don’t conceive in around 6 months.

Do you know what you’re doing to do monitoring wise?

I had my last pill on Monday and my withdrawal bleed started today! I have been on the pill 11 years I am 27 too! Really don’t know how I’ll feel or what to expect being off it, my main worry is my skin getting bad as it was the reason I started it when I was 16! Hoping my cycle returns to normal as we aren’t going to start ttc until I’ve had my first ‘normal’ period. I’ve downloaded an app to help me track.

Peaky - Wow we are similar! How exciting!

No I’m not going to do any tracking to begin with, as like you, I just think it adds extra unnecessary stress!

Love how you call it sexy time 😂😂

@hunny85 did you have any symptoms coming off the pill? Did your moods, skin or weight change? I am quite anxious that I won’t be starting my pill again on Tuesday morning! I can’t remeber what it was like not being on it!

Hello!

I’m a fresh off the pill gal! TTC #3, been nearly 9 years since I’ve been pregnant!

Took my last pill (Cerazette) on the 20th December, DTD on that night, had a withdrawal bleed 24th to the 27th and now the wait until a real period comes but will resume DTD when hubby has got over the flu just in case I ovulate.

@whatsthecraic91 I was exactly the same - the main things I have noticed was my period was a bit painful and my boobs where so tender - skin wise I have noticed no difference and weight wise has stayed pretty much the same too.

Obviously everyone is different but think I had more mood swings when I was on the pill than off it haha

Joining in with this. Took my last pill almost 5 weeks ago now, but as of yet no bleeding or anything. Feeling disappointed as just want to be normal and I'm getting neg tests so no it's not for that reason.

I'm the same as hunny85 took my last pill in November, had breakthrough bleed then period came back 30 days later in December. It was a bit painful but other than that I've had no other symptoms or side effects of stopping.

Are you using apps to track? I had just made a note of when my last period on the pill started on my phone.

Hi just thought I'd jump on here, I stopped taking my pill at the end of September after my wedding, first cycle was 30 days second was 27 days and currently on my third on CD 28 took a test on Xmas day and yesterday and both were BFN, so just waiting now for AF to show, the first two cycles I had every symptom going and I think it was to do with hormones all over the place Sore/sensitive nipples was the worst one, I've been on the pill for 10 years 8 on microgynon 2 on dianette, and before I went on the pill I never had symptoms before AF just cramps when I was on that's it, but since being off I've noticed I get a few twinges a few days before AF, my skin has been amazing but it was anyway for the last two years being on dianette, I've noticed that I feel a hell of a lot better being off the pill, didn't realise whilst on it but It actually made me feel really low, moody and depressed, I'm on cycle 3 now and I know that I'm ovulating as I've been tracking usingOPKS but nothing has happened as of yet, I know everyone is different in regards to getting cycles back I still don't know how long my cycles are as one was 30 day and one 27, but also you don't need to have a period to ovulate so start using OPKS, I can't remember how long my cycles were before going on the pill as I was 16 and it was never something I used to take notice of back then 🙈

I am using an app called Ovia, taking period and any symptoms. I do use OPKs aswell due to my husband working alot. I got a positive on CD13 this month so I know when I should expect AF/BFP

@MrsP4 completely agree about feeling so much better being off my pill. My symptoms since coming off mine are very similar and still waiting for my 2nd period to get more of an idea of my cycle.

Thanks for all your responses ladies... it's always nice to be able to speak to others who are in the same boat!
Totally agree with the whole feeling better thing... I used to have days where I would just feel enraged, anxious and irritated at everything for no reason, but I've felt much happier in the last week. That being said, I have felt a bit emotional today for no reason but it is probably due to the hormones settling down and I look forward to more of the happiness!!

Your periods will come don't worry I got my dates mixed up on my last post I'm on CD27 and AF arrived this afternoon so my last two cycles have been 27 days so I think that's my norm can't remember what they were before the pill as I was young but probably around the same.

Hey! I finished the pill at the beginning of October and I've got no idea what's going on! One cycle was 28 days and second was 55!! I hope they arnt always going to be this long it's sooo much waiting!
I'm on cd12 at the moment so doing opks (negative) and dtd, so could be another 2 week's of doing this :(
I'm using ovia but as I put in my regular cycles were 28 days at the beginning, it still says it will be that long again, but should I be aiming for an average between 28 days and 55 days?
So confusing! I don't think it helps that I've gained a ton of weight either, January will deffo be a detox month!

Hi ladies. Can I join? Hubby and I are planning to start TTC in Feb/March. Been on the pill 11years (!) So hoping all is ok when I stop (planning to finish mid Feb). I don't want to be pressured or stressed when trying but I'm also worried it will take agesss to get pregnant. Let's hope all goes well for us all! Smile
