Hi all, just wondering if any one else suffers from mid month pains? I have a son 21 months and we have just decided to start TTC #2 but since things settled down after #1 I have been getting mid month pains. They start around day 9/10 of cycle and last until around Day 15-16 presumably after ovulation. I never had this before, I had a c section and am concerned that things aren’t right. Has anyone else had similar? Thanks

Yup, it is a thing. I always feel it when I ovulate from my right ovary - usually just a sort of 'pulling' sensation for a couple of days. Sometimes horrible bloating and really bad pain. Mine i suspect is linked to my endometriosis, but I know people who have it without any pathology.

Yes I suffer with bad ovulation pain. It lasts up to a week. I'm ok in the morning and pain gets progressively worse throughout the day, I feel like I'm carrying rocks in my stomach. I've had an ultrasound scan which showed no abnormality. My doctor said to put up with it or go on hormone based contraception which I don't want to do at the moment. I do sympathise.

Thanks both, that’s reassuring but obviously I’m sorry you guys suffer as well. Mine is uncomfortable when I wee as well, do you ever get that?
I did wonder if I have developed endometriosis as some symptoms seem similar and I read you can get it from c section scarring.

My doctor said she didn't think mine was endometriosis as I don't really suffer with period pain and apparently I would if it was that. I don't have pain going for a wee but I do wee more often. I've googled extensively (I know!) and I think I have Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. I haven't mentioned it to my doctor though, I'm worried she'll think I'm a crazy lady diagnosing herself off the internet. Which I am!

Oh my gosh, same here bobisbored I’m constantly googling!! My husband goes mad at me 🤣
Haven’t heard of that syndrome though, but like you I don’t get pain during period so hopefully it’s not Endo, although I had read some women don’t get that. I went to GP before we starting TTC and she seemed to just think it was normal ovu pain. I started using the clearblue fertility monitor this month and I did get a peak which hopefully means I have ovulated.
What is the pelvic congestion syndrome?
I’m also 37 this year so feel like my body clock is ticking especially as my Gran went through menopause at 35!!! I feel like I shouldn’t stress as I have a perfect little boy and should be grateful but the thought of having the choice to have a second removed worries and upsets me.

I get pain when I wee - around my rectum. Feels like something pulling on it, and occasionally like someone is stabbing my bumhole. Deffo think that is endo scarring. One day I'll get a lap to find out properly...

OP Pelvic Congestion Syndrome also known as pelvic vein incompetence) is a chronic medical condition in women caused by varicose veins in the lower abdomen. The condition causes chronic pain, often manifesting as a constant dull ache, which can be aggravated by standing. I also have vulval varicose veins which can be an indicator. Sorry TMI!

Bobisbored that sounds horrible for you, and don’t worry about TMI 🤣 I think these places are often filled with TMI’s but if we can’t say it here where can we say it!
