Yes, we know all about how emotional and hard it can be! All the pros and cons, all about missing Aunty Flo's and wtf cycles with no ovulation, all about children being cute and pointy. No matter if you are five months or twenty months down the breastfeeding timeline, if you're ttc again, this is the thread to join! Welcome! Smile

Hello! i'm a sporadic but long term lurker. Now ready to really do this and see the BFP.

I'm 38 (I'm not ready to own 'late thirties' yet August!). DD is almost two. AF came back at 8 months. Started thinking about conceiving number two at the start of this year, now we're really stepping up the efforts.

DD is still feeding and we have had such an amazing journey, I would really like for her to stop at a pace she is comfortable with (not quite the same thing as carrying on as long as she wants!). We have reduced feeds from three or more a day a couple of months ago to one to three a day now. Other things I'm doing:

I've got the Duofertility monitor, for accurate BBT charting - not cheap but really useful so far, helping understand what's going on with my cycle. (i'm ovulating, but have a short / weak luteal phase which I'm aiming to improve)

Accupuncture - I see a really fab therapist who is working wonders, helping to strengthen and lengthen my cycle

Nurtition - I've just started working with a nutritionist, have come to understand that healthy blood sugar levels really support and enable conception. There's a blog post somewhere on this I will post in a mo. I have a fast metabolism and blood sugar levels can yo-yo. Also the key to conceiving while DD continues to be a boob monster is to support and build my physical capacity to do both.

onecurrant aged 26 ttc #3 since May 2015 (cycle 1) AF returned in April. OPKs and cervical signs show I'm ovulating. My children are 3.5 and 16 months old -youngest feeds 1-3 x between 8pm and 6am and not during the day.

Age 33, TTC #2 currently at the end of cycle 7. AF returned at 14 months. Stopped bf 2 months a go when ds hit 22 months.

Dougal : I have no idea who you're but you sound very on top of things at your end ??

Lea: My gut feeling says I am not I'm afraid. My temperatures have severley dropped this week which means AF is on her way but it is giving me some time to mentally prepare rather then get my hopes up ??

Ava - I can understand why you've fallen off the wagon a bit. Do you have a particular weigh day? Mine is now Thursday. Worked out this morning that I've almost put on 2 stone in 2 years ?? DH says he's not noticed but a lot of my trousers are feeling a bit too snug! Anyway, you've inspired me to kick myself into action and I intend to have a very positive attitude until AF arrives and it will be my turn to fall off the wagon

So sorry AF arrived auto.

Trin what's the TNCSS book? Sorry think I've missed that!

Thanks for the new thread ?? Welcome newbies & long term lurkers! Best of luck to all.

My stats:

Currently on cycle 4 of Ttc#2. Dc is 13mo & I have recently cut feeding to once a day in the hope that it will help me get my bfp!

I'm currently on cd12 but cb opk is still showing blank smiley (low fertility). We are dtd every other day though just to be on the safe side!

Trinpy we can be cycle buddies - I ov'd on Sunday or Monday so 3 or 4dpo.

mumo NCSS is a sleep training book of sorts. It's No Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley... I loved it and recommend it to anyone who listens! It's not a catch all method or quick solution though it's all about supporting baby to sleep better

Dougal that's interesting about blood sugar. Mine runs at the low end of normal (we used to practise taking each other's when I was a nurse) but I eat all kinds of sugary carp nowadays.

Cooee-
36, Ds is 17 mo, still feeding mainly on demand but manages 8-5 on a nursery day with no milk. Nights still feature the all-you can eat self-service milk bar of co-sleeping (never been an easy baby)
Still no AF return so will be here for quite some time....

Hello new thread Smile

I'm 29, TTC #2, DS is nearly 12months, AF returned at nearly 6 months, had 1 cycle of 35days (33 is normal for me) then nada, nothing, No AF, finished breastfeeding at 11 months (to try and get things going again), started temping, using opks and DTD EOD to try and catch an egg should it be released!

Thanks for the new thread, August Grin It's now the fourth I've posted on.... Sad

35 years old, DD 24 months ttc #2 since DD was 6 months Shock
(tried desperately to catch the first egg but to no avail)
AF returned at 16 months, but suspect first 6 months were anovulatory cycles judging by flow and opk results
Cycle #5 since AF properly came back, currently on cd 2
Charting bbt and using opks
We co-sleep so feeding to sleep and at least once over night most nights, and up to 2-4 times a day (for only 5-10 mins at a time) - trying to cut down on demand feeds during the day in an attempt to wean completely over the next couple of months Wink

Pear, my aim was to weigh every Monday morning between starting my healthy eating plan last week and my long weekend away mid-July, but already I've given into temptation and weighed twice mid-week (4lbs lost!) but I won't weigh again whilst AF is here. I'll leave it until next week, see what the damage is, then kick start it again. Hopefully it won't be too bad, and I'll still only have another 4/5 lbs to lose to reach my pre-pg/post pg lightest target weight Wink

So sorry for AF auto. Fingers crossed this is the thread where we get our BFPs! And you're in sync with me and Ava so come buddy up with us :)

29 years old, one DD who is 23 mo. She was breastfeeding a lot day and night - so much I have no idea how many times! Now on day 5 or 6 of complete day weaning which has been surprisingly easy and painfree. Still feeding through the night though even more since day weaning...

AF returned at 15 months (Sept). On cycle 2 of TTC, cd2. But last cycle wasn't really planned and I wasnt using opks or anything - this month I will be.

Btw thanks to everyone for the temping advice. I've looked into it (and have got fertility friend set up!) but think I'll leave it for this month at least...I just know I'll get really obsessive with it and it would start taking over my life. So better I just dont start!

Ava, fx the scales will be forgiving on Monday Wink

So, I've had a tough day. I am hungry all the time. It's caused my moods to be so up and down. I don't know whether it's because I'm thinking about diets, I'm generally hungry because AF is coming or I'm pregnant?!?! Grin So frustrating! DH doesn't want me to test tomorrow Hmm

One we could have valentine's day babies y'know Wink. I work in gynae and we have loads of those little cardboard wheels the midwives use to work out how many weeks pregnant you are, so I obviously had to check what my hypothetical due date would be Blush.

Report
Trinpy · 28/05/2015 20:27

wax I know what you mean about temping - that's why I don't do it, I think I would stress out far too much. It's not too difficult to tell when you're ovulating using opks, etc once you're used to it.

Good luck for tomorrow's testing pear. Is pregnology the one where it tells you all the important dates (like when you'll start wearing maternity clothes!) in your pregnancy based on lmp or am I thinking of another website?

Report
peardrop2 · 28/05/2015 22:01

Trinpy - don't think it mentions clothes but it does give you a predicted edd based on OV or AF with a list of dates splitting it in trimesters.

Trinpy · 28/05/2015 22:02

just googled - it was countdowntopregnancy I was thinking of (also very addictive!).

That's what I figure trinpy...presumably the opks are just as accurate in telling me when I'm ovulating? Is it just that temping gives you more warning or is there some additional benefit to doing it? I used opks with DD and I didn't really register a proper positive, just a vague 'is that positive? Not sure...let's shag anyway' and it seemed to work, amazingly. But the context is so different this time - 3 years older, breastfeeding, unfit, sleep deprived, living on sugar and caffeine! So I will probably need all the help I can get...

Btw I am less addicted to your pregnancy websites, and MASSIVELY addicted to the baby names forum and constructing wish lists of names that DH will never agree to
