My favourite line that always makes me tear up is when I was tucking her into bed, we'd been reading a long book together for a few weeks and had just finished. She said "Mama, I will remember you here forever."

She is 5, she was worried that Mama had something 'stuck in her eye' after that!

Our 2.8yo dd has taken to coming into our room in the morning, snuggling under the covers and declaring 'mummy I love you soooo much'

I was sitting in the baby bit of the swimming pool with DD (about 20 months old), and she was toddling around, very proud of herself for not needing to hold on to me. She slipped and started to fall in, I let out a big panicky gasp and grabbed her, and she just calmly turned to me with a big smile and said 's'ok, mummy got you'. My heart melted a bit.

My own daughter is too little to say proper sentences but I boy that I looked after years ago made my heart melt when he told me he loved me, completely out of the blue one day when we were walking home from nursery.

My daughter (7) and son (4) always tell me and their daddy that " I love you up to the moon and all around the world" " your the best mum/dad I have ever had" lol and " I love mummy/daddy cuddles"

I joined mumsnet as a nana to get tips for my grandchildren but recently my daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and l was with her during labour. At one point she looked at me and said thank you for being here mum you are the best mum and nana ever and l love you so much. Even though we regularly say l love you to each other this was a very special moment for us both

I have had a bad cough and had an attack yesterday to find my two year old little boy cuddling me and saying" are you ok mummy" it made me well up inside, he is so little but was worried about me not the other way round :)

When my youngest stepdaughter was very small she said she wanted to grow up to be just like me, which choked me up a bit........many years later (she's 18 on Thursday!) after coming to live with us, she's like a mini me! Probably the biggest compliment you can get!

My 7y/o DS said to me at bedtime last week: "My friends at school laugh at me when I say I love my mummy. And when they ask who my girlfriend is, I say it's my mummy. I don't like that they laugh at me, but I won't stop saying it - I DO love you, Mummy."

I couldn't speak for the huge lump in my throat. :-) I can also never get to the end of Guess How Much I Love You unless I have waterproof eyeliner on.

My daughter is nearly two so inevitably, a bit of a horror at the moment but the other morning, out of nowhere, she turned to means said 'mummy beautiful' and gave me a kiss. Aww.

My 18 month old DD is just learning to talk and obviously her vocab is not that great yet. Although I just wanted to share that after dinner today she said 'cuggles' (translates to cuddles) and then literally jumped on me to cuddle me. I'm looking forward to hearing her talk to me more.

DD1 said that I had lovely squishy boobies perfect for cuddles. She also admired my friend's "beautiful big bottom" so her compliments are sometimes slightly off.

My son said this to me the other night at bedtime - 'mummy, I love you so much I think I might pop'. Very cute.

My son is 14, a relatively uncommunicative and undemonstrative age. And never, ever soppy.
The other week, he said to my DH (a kid's surgeon)
"Dad, I totally respect what you do. You do an awesome job. I am so proud of you."

Our 2 year old is still learning to make out full sentences, so often his actions resonate just as much as words.

So just pronouncing "mummeeeeeeee" in the morning, or "cha-choooo" (nickname) and hugging his uncle when he sees him for the first time in ages, is just awesome to see. Current favourite is his recitation of the 'Alphabet' song - during the final line (Now I know my A, B, C, You can sing along with me), he will perform the actions, pointing to me and then himself at the end for emphasis (YOU can sing along with .... MEEEE!!)
