Clitoral pain after childbirth?

I have given up on the 'TMI' tag now as everything I get seems to be TMI!

Anyway, 10 days postpartum and my clitoris feels like its been kicked when I stand up and walk, and i don't need to tell you how sensitive it is! It just started yesterday. It all looks fine.

Anyone else had this? How long until I can walk without it bringing tears to my eyes? Did quite a bit of walking on Friday so wondering if this brought it on?

I'm just so fed up of it all hurting down there, one problem goes and another one comes!

I had that! I was too embarrassed to tell anyone. It finally went, but it took months Except that it sometimes hurt again when I have sex (that may be every time I have sex, I only have sex sometimes ) Anyway, it's getting better - DS is 7 months now.

However, if you can, I would suggest you mention it to someone, I really regret it. I mainly didn't because every time the midwives came round my Mum was here and I couldn't bring myself to say clitoris in front of her, and I couldn't think of another way to describe it. I'm pathetic.

Thank you! Midwife coming on Monday so will definitely say something. Think it might actually be my urethra opening rather than my clitoris after further investigation, but it's hard to tell

Now wondering if it might be a UTI, don't have any pain when urinating although I am finding it quite difficult to go! Or just bruising?

God it's all so bloomin' frustrating :(

I think it's the same. I sometimes thought it was my urethra, but I had no pain when I was peeing, but sometimes had trouble starting and forcing myself hurt. I had antibiotics for other things during that time, but it didn't get better, so I'm sure it wasn't a UTI.

Although in your case I hope it is, that way you can clear it up quickly!

If not, I think it's bruising and stretching :(

I have a similar but not so overwhelming pain and it's definitely in my urethra. I'm convinced it's from the catheter they used to make me wee (not perminant - just a one off 'in/out' thing) just before birth as I'd had an epidural.

Saying that, no idea why it's aching now and didn't initially if that is the cause.

Yep, I had that too, and still do sometimes 3 months on. GP said is because stitches pulling whole area. Why does no-one tell you that childbirth is just the beginning of a whole load of pain!

Thanks all for responding. I didn't have a catheter but did have a fast birth of a back-to-back 4kg baby! The stitches thing makes sense as I suppose they are healing now and the area is being stretched by that.

It does feel a bit better today but going to take it easy and not walk too far for another week.

I had my daughter 16 days ago and I get this pain, I also had a catheter but that was due to having to have the epidural to remove my placenta after the birth on gas and air. Did any of you find out the cause?x

I had this it’s horrible isn’t it, I remember the midwife examining me after the birth to check for tears and I nearly jumped off the table. I was so embarrassed I didn’t know how to tell her..I was like ‘it’s just that you’re touching erm..the most sensitive bit!’ I felt like she was poking it directly but think it was just because it hurt so much! It lasted a few weeks for me but I didn’t tear if that makes a difference. I think it was extremely stretched to the limit!
