Frantic arm waving in baby - normal?!

Hi, Am 1st time mum to dd aged 14 weeks.

over the last week she has been repeatedly waving her left arm up and down, up and down.... it is almost constant

she can reach for and grab things, and whilst she is concentrating on doing that the arm waving stops, but it returns when she is excited, angry or in pain (she suffers from slight reflux so waves her arm up and down when feeding too!)

the only time she doesnt really do it is when she's asleep

Is this normal? I'm hoping she's just developig muscles in that arm, it seems rather out of her control - or am i going to have an auctioneer for a daughter

any experience/advice appreciated!

My dd (22 weeks) does it too - don't worry, I think it's normal! Her arm gets so frantic that she hits herself ! The cutest thing is when both her arms and both her legs are going at the same time - that's when she gets really excited about something!

My LO does this too. He's 10 weeks. I find he does it more when he is over tired and frustrated. He accidently whacks himself in the face sometimes bless him. God knows what he is gonna be like when he discovers his feet!

Mine did this. I described it as the 'guiding planes in to land' developmental stage.

Wait for the 'talking to the dolphins stage', that one is entertaining.

(Oh, and 'evil genius, rubbing hands together' is good, too.)

I love the evil genius rubbing hands together that spring apart by accident and end up in a flurry of guiding planes into land!
Lulabell - when they discover their feet they never let go of them and end up in strange yoga type poses!!
