Baby names

Which names do you predict will go rancid in a few years, like Sharon and Tracy did?

I am not saying I don't like these names...but some names get too popular and then they start to smell a bit and seem naff

For girls:

Jade
Ruby? It's the second most popular girl naem nowadays
Aimee
Anything-Mae

For boys:

Rhys
Jayden
Logan

lovely lovely thread

Jesus wept, what is up with mn at the moment.

Childrens names, what little girls wear.....

etc etc

STOP THINK

How exactly do you think someone whose dearly beloved child is called on of those names is going to feel upon reading your list LadyT?

happy?
uplifted?
charmed?

I suspect not.

I'm going to go with:
pissed off
or
upset

Lovely, just lovely.

I think I need to take a break from this place. It is making me jolly cross.

I am worried about Hannah, although I have one.

I like Tracy and Shazza.

Names just date, they don't go rancid.....

I spose you mean because they become well used by ahem, the ahem, lower ahem classes. S

Are we in agreement we do have a class system in this country or are we in denial???

So think Ella probably ok

Cool it, Slubber. I SAID that I didn't necessarily dislike these names - just picking out the ones which may edge over from popularity. Just idly speculating for a bit of fun. My word isn't law! It ain't NECESSARILY gonna happen! It's just people's opinions, like every other flippin' thread. My daughter is going to get a real poncypants name and most people on here would think it was totally bleugh. So the duck what!

Furthermore, I have a really popular name from the 1970s which most people would think was totally cack. I have come to terms with it now. Besides which, I haven't had a sense of humour bypass, and if someone said "Oh blimey!" about my name I could er, just shrug it off.

Wasn't really thinking about class actually...only popularity

Flum

Hannah is a biblical name, I don't think it will 'date' any more than Mark or Luke for boys, it's a very ageless name.

Agree with Slubber this thread could upset a lot of people, why start it?

LT,it works both ways though.I have a very unusual name and gave my dd a "popular" name mentioned on this thread as I hate the endless mis-spellings and explanations/jokes that go with my name.(Actually, when I gave it her it was after a great jazz singer,I didn't realise how popular it was).A friend has a Molly and a Grace, another a Rhys and a Millie-Mae!!Oh and I have a nephew called Alfie!

Well if it's alright with you, I wont cool it, because I am cross.

You seriously think that this is fun? Using words like rancid in the thread title and then listing popular names that you wonder might "start to smell a bit and seem naff".

"It's only peoples opinions" you say that like it has no consequence at all. It's only on mn.....

come on
