hi, I'm a new knitter, following a pattern for the first time. I have done 25cm of stocking stitch and should end on a right side row. What does this mean? Thanks

I believe this means the end of the purl row

The right side on stocking stitch is the smooth side.

Ok, so if I've just purled a row and the smooth side is now facing me, I'm ready for the next bit of instructions?

Yes!

Hurrah! Thank you.

I'm not so sure you are right, darlings. If it said 'ending on a wrong side row' it would mean end with a purl row. Now that it says 'ending with a right side row' I think that they probably mean that the next thing you do is on the wrong side. What is it that you are supposed to be doing? If it is just armhole shapings it doesn't matter too much.

DutchOma is right:

Knitting Tips - Ending with a Wrong side Row

Ending with a wrong side row means that you complete a wrong side row before moving on to the next instruction in your pattern. So, in the next step, the right side is facing you.

Oops yes that's right < long time since I've knitted emoticon > blush.

therefore:

Knitting Tips - Ending with a Right side Row

Ending with a right side row means that you complete a right side row before moving on to the next instruction in your pattern. So, in the next step, the wrong side is facing you (bumpy side).

Yes, I did end up with bumps in the wrong place! Never mind. You knit and learn. Thanks for the tips.
