Remember Marcus Rashford and his campaign to extend free school meals? Yesterday all but a handful of Tory MPs voted against extending free school meals over the school holidays until Easter 2021. You can see if your MP is amongst them here: votes.parliament.uk/Votes/Commons/Division/896#noes

Whatever your thoughts on what parents should be doing some children are going to go hungry. Why punish the children because of the sins of the parent? And remember most people on benefits are in work.

Plus there is a bloody pandemic. We’re in unprecedented times. People who were just about managing are now on the bones of their arse.

We have billions to spaff up the wall on a useless test and trace system, or useless Ppe but we can’t feed a few hungry kids. And le’t not forget that the MPs voting against this get subsidised meals and can claim for their food on expenses.

Needless to say, the useless Tory drone who is my MP is among them. She's nothing but lobby fodder for the right-wing of the Tories, who currently are very much in control.

I hope that this comes back to bite them on the arse come election time.

They have no care or compassion for the poor and vulnerable. In fact, they probably welcome the fact that keeping poor kids inadequately fed damages their educational chances and will keep them in low-paid work, and under the heel of the Tory boot, for another generation.

This is the most enraging fact to me. MPs have access to subsidised and free meals, but vote against some kids in need having that access.

Do MPs have to vote? Mine appears not to have voted. Looking through the voting history, I don't understand how anyone could possibly think it is OK to vote for no measures to stop climate change

I'm raging. I am privileged. But some of my dd's friends at school are not. The school PTA is raising money to provide meals during half term. But tbh, why should it gave to be down to individual communities? This isn't about politics, it's about fucking humanity.

My MP is Labour, voted yes. My mum's MP is Tory, the type who likes photo-ops of himself at food banks and schools and pops up on your doorstep before and election never to be seen again. He voted no.

Even the fucking children's minister and Matt Wanksock the health sec said no.

This make me sick. I knew my hypocritical MP would vote this way. We live in a borough that has some of the highest deprivation as well as many of the super wealthy. On paper, without breaking down the figures it comes across as a thriving area but it is far from it.

It's sickening that we as taxpayers are paying for these greedy MPs food expenses and God know what.
