lol. there is no asda near here. maybe that's it.

there's also been some controversy lately over sweatshops (not just asda - tesco and primark too), so I might have avoided them anyway, but really I think that the reason no-one responded to your warnings was because we all wear tracksuits and no-one here has time any more to be doing with sparkly clothing of any description.

No. I don't shop at ASDA because they don't deliver to my house, and wearing sparkly tops in my house would be the height of extravagance with my refluxing baby son. Have you seen glitter covered in puke-up baby milk? Now that's a faux-pas.

I shop at Asda. The last time I shopped at my local Tesco, on a Saturday morning, there was a massive fight at the wine display at the front of the store, with one bloke getting a broken bottle shoved in his face. Classy place, Wolverton.

It's not a class thing, it's an ethics thing - the artificially low prices cause real poverty for lots of people and places like Asda and Tesco have really low standards of animal welfare. Having said that, I did get myself a 97p sandwich from Tesco today

I used to work on a kids playscheme in a nice but tough area of Liverpool in the summer. We took them to a city farm one day, and while picnicking, they watched another group of children who were, for some reason, all dressed in plastic bags (hole cut in bottom for head, etc). Michael, aged 10, tough little cookie but also adorable, watches, and then observes, musingly "I'd wear a Kwiksave bag, but I wouldn't wear a Netto one"...

i love asda, sainsburys and aldi.....tesco just gets on my norks....and i cannot stand morrisons or iceland

i'm not so keen on asda, but do shop there occasionally, if its closer than tesco, i shop there 99% of the time, but when it comes to clothes shopping i rarely buy myself any clothes any more, but when i do i'm lucky enough to have a next outlet store very nearby!!! and its dirt cheap for the quality!!! buy all my kids clothes from there and i tell you what i always spend less than it would cost for the same sort of thing from tesco or asda!!!- sorry ladies- i'm just lucky there!!

I started shopping at my local Tesco superstore in 1988 when I first left home. Still shopping there now. I can't be doing with chopping and changing and not knowing where things are.
Over the years I have had people gently hint that perhaps (as I might now be considered a certain sort of person) consider the new Sainsbury's or even get Waitrose to deliver.
Can't be bothered. Every Friday morning at 9.05 I enter Tesco's. Back home by 10.15 putting it away. Kids just as healthy as theirs.

I shop at Waitrose, and Sainsburys, and Tescos and Asda. I like a change of scenery

I like my Waitrose, it is nice. Marks and Spencer is like shopping in a 3rd world country, very little choice. Every time I shop at Tesco (which is too often, I seem to drive past dozens of them every day) I feel dirty and not in a good way.

Also, I thank God every week that I have the money to go to Tesco. One Xmas eve my mum went into the butchers and asked for 1lb of sausages, saying loudly that they'd do for supper. They weren't for supper, they were our family's Xmas dinner.

I shop at Asda, it's cheaper, and will avoid the said top! Sometimes I shop at Tesco too, but it does make me feel bad. Consumer ethics are so confuzzling and painful to get your head round, especially on a budget.

Sorry, but I find your post really silly. If it makes you feel dirty driving past a Tesco, why do you say "every time I shop..." Strange.
Whoosh I'm gone. Every time we have a supermarket vs supermarket thread, the telly suddenly seems so much more attractive.

I like asda I can feed a household of 7 on healthy food for a week for about a 115.00 pw

I use asda because (a) its cheaper than sainsburys or booths and (b) its on the way home from dropping DD at school.

Proper meat from local butcher/farm shop though!

Kids clothes from asda... not sequined. DD would be revolted nowadays. plain ts (prefereably boys ones) and knickers. Don't want to waste time and fuel going anywhere else when I can pick them up with the shopping.

I shopped in an asda once.

I bought a pack of asda's own frozen battered fish (among other things).

They were the most ugly mis-shapen pieces of fish I've ever seen and they were riddled with bones.

That just put me off forever.
