AIBU?

to think Dominic Cummings has to go?

Dominic Cummings apparently travelled to his parents house while meant to be self isolating due to covid symptoms.

Given what happened with Neil Ferguson and Catherine Calderwood, AIBU to think his position ought to be untenable?

Won’t make any difference as he hasn’t got an official position - if he “goes” he’s still advising and even less accountable

That is probably the least of what Cummings has done!

If he does go the fallout will be spectacular.
He knows the location of many many skeletons and is 100% the kind of man who would take others with him if he goes down.

He won't though - look at Robert Jenrick

True - probably why he will end up brushing it off. But what an idiot.

Have to say if it’s true I’m delighted he’s been caught out. Hope it keeps getting thrown in his face. Sadly I don’t think he’ll go. Boris loves him.

I agree that he’ll stay on as he probably knows too much about too many powerful people. Of course he should resign, but the loathsome little fucker doesn’t have an ounce of shame so he clearly won’t. Makes my skin crawl.

FT today estimates more than 63,000 COVID deaths so far in the UK. This ought to do for the Tories what Iraq did for Labour, and then some.

So very true. Horrible creature.

Of course he should, but he won’t.

Unless, of course, Boris decides he has become too toxic and has served his purpose. In which case he will be out on his arse by Monday.

Tories have no shame. He'll stay where he is.

He can't/won't 'go.' He doesn't really have a job as such, he's just like Boris' nasty BFF who hangs around being mean to people and making wicked plans.

I'm fairy sure 'Senior Downing Street Advisor' is just a made up job.

Well he should be on his way out over securing his mates £250m of tax payers money without a tender to create that tracing app clusterfuck.

Meh, he could have driven and self isolated there. We don't know the circumstances, maybe it was better for him to self isolate there?

Did Stay at Home all over the podium at the press briefing every day for eight weeks pass you by? Two advisors have been sacked for not adhering to it but it’s “meh” when it’s Cummings?

@Alsohuman trust me I have been shielding for a lot fucking longer than 8 weeks.

You see every other person follow all the advice, no. Many haven't.

We don't know the circumstances (as I have said in every other situation of covid judgement that has swept over mumsnet).

Go?

He shouldn't never have been anywhere near government.

Him and his dodgy psyops over Brexit cost this country billions and our international reputation.

He seems to have gone to his parents' house to "self-isolate" instead of Staying At (his own) Home... And he can't have stayed inside there very well, seeing as members of the public kept seeing him to report him. Way to be a viral vector, Dom.

I do recall hearing that Dominic's father had caught coronavirus. So was that before or after Dom's visit, eh?

I don’t know why anyone’s surprised. When he discovered Johnson had tested positive, he was photographed heading into the London Underground. He must have known then he was highly likely to have been infected but he got on a packed tube carriage anyway.

How pathetic. A married man yet fucked off home to mummy and daddy when he was a bit under the weather?

Did Boris Johnson say anything about Prof Ferguson?

I guess those words could be used against him when asking about Cummings

His excuse

A source close to Mr Cummings defended his actions, saying he made the trip because his parents could help with child care while he and his wife were both ill with symptoms of coronavirus.

Cummings? I wish his dad was incapable of cumming.
