Michael Jackson and the new documentary

Leaving Neverland, being shown at the Sundance film festival and in the spring on Channel 4....I love his music and have believed he was vilified by the racist media, and by greedy individuals and families after his money; but am really not so sure of his innocence any more. I guess that's my aibu- that we have to listen to his accusers don't we? I was sexually abused as a ternager, and not believed. It was a profoundly damaging experience.

I'm a massive fan of his music. Grew up adoring him, all the albums all the videos. He's never been found guilty by a court as far as I know?

However, I think he's guilty as sin. And the people around him must have known too. Just awful for his victims. I've not seen the new documentary, harrowing.

The documentary won't be broadcast on TV until the spring here in the UK. I was born a year after MJ so related to him and his music child to child. He was electricity. So very talented, and he grew up in an environment and an era where his emerging paedophilia was probably totally ignored by those responsible for raising him-no one talked about stuff like that back then. No one went for psychotherapy. Later on he would have just been pandered to- people just wanted him to continue to produce music and to keep on performing and being their cash cow.

Huge respect for MJ's music but he obviously had some extreme issues.
I don't doubt the alleged victims and I can't listen to MJ's music anymore. I just don't want to hear it, despite his talent & I feel a bit strange when people say what big fans they are of his.

The documentary's being shown at the end of next month in the UK, I think. I have a journalist as a client who saw it at Sundance and has just interviewed Wade Robson and James Safechuck.

Yeah I didn't really have any feelings either way as to his guilt, but now I think it's extremely unlikely that he wasn't a child abuser.

The family that framed him alleging that he did something wrong confessed and said it was all for the money before he died, the kid that lied committed suicide. MJ was never able to wash off the suspected pervert image because one family wanted to make a cheap buck. This is not about raising awareness, it's riding the wave of let's see who else we can vilify. Whilst the real perppretators THAT ARE Alive continue to hide in plain sight. I read this article about the documentary yesterday. It’s sounds very harrowing and detailed.

I always felt that he cultivated his Peter Pan image to conceal abusing children, much like Savile and his charity work.
The media also printed many stories about MJ having had no real childhood, having been abused by his father etc and this made it easier for people to cast him as eccentric and being a big kid rather than being a criminal.
Pay offs to children who came forward also concealed the truth As he was able to hide behind suggestions of blackmail and gold digging.

Delusional, it's crazy just because he was Michael Jackson people are still prepared to ignore all the evidence brought towards him over the years. The police that lost that court case against him years ago gave a statement saying they'd no doubt in their mind Michael Jackson was guilty as sin.

Vanity Fair followed the trial. At the end they chatted to the jurors who pretty much all seemed to think that he was guilty, but found him "not" as they figured it was more the parents' fault for leaving their children with him. The parents knew he was probably dodgy, but fame and money won them over

I should warn that the details are harrowing. I think as we are now in a "metoo" environment it seems abundantly clear that these accusers should be believed.
