I don't get why people stockpile cleaning stuff! I have 1 bottle Zoflora, 1 bleach , 1 Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner, 1 Mr Muscle window cleaner, 1 bottle of fairy liquid! Would rather have money sitting in my bank instead of my cupboard.

I must admit I have a couple of bottles of zoflora in different scents... but I've had them a while as only use a little bit at a time.

I was saying this just yesterday.... what's the need to stockpile. My house is not dirty enough to justify buy 6 bottles of black, cif and what ever else I use..... it takes me a couple weeks to go through bottles like that so why the years supply? I don't understand

That's meant to say bleach,

Stockpile when it is cheap innit?

I am no domestic goddess but you'll never find me running out of any cleaning products (this also extends to kitchen & toilet roll, and most toiletries Shock)

But most things are on offer every week! Mind you my mum stockpiles loo rolls because there was a shortage in the 70s apparently....

I know I'll get a deal but I don't need 6 bottles of bleach or like 12 cloths. I think I've only ever ran out of toilet roll once and that was only because my child want through a stage of putting it on the holders and flushing so it would all roll down the toilet.... not gonna lie I've become quite obsessed with Mrs hinch but I don't understand the need to have a million cleaning products of the same thing.... maybe it's because I can see a home bargains from my garden so if I feel like somethings getting low I can just pop over the road and fetch it like anyone else would pop to a corner shop and I'm not paying over the odds for anything.

My husband made a point last night saying these people could essentially make bombs. I like Mrs Hinch, but haven't learnt anything new from her. My mum was a cleaner and I went with her during holidays, the things she does (minus chemical cocktails) is basic cleaning. Don't feel the need to stock pile either, I had ran out of most cleaning products so brought my usual supply and a new duster because mine broke. Not because I need a 'Narnia'

Shes a lovely lady, and isn't hurting anyone nor are the people who stock pile. But that side of it just isn't for me!

I think she needs to learn about COSHH....you really shouldn't mix chemicals..

I love her. She's happy and cheerful and inspiring people to clean. What's not to love?!

Imagine going into these houses with all the different fragrances they have used. In my view they're essentially using these products as air fresheners! Zoflora is so strong. I only use it diluted in bins and our outside drains.
I recently joined the Facebook group for Mrs Hinch (Hinch Army) our if curiosity and my goodness the people are using zoflora in their irons, on sanitary pads behind radiators, spraying all over sofas, on mattresses and the worst in vaporisers/wax melt type things.

People are walking in a major health hazard using all these products. I imagine there will be a huge spike in zoflora sales and then the backlash will start.

I'm with you on this. Smile
Bully for them all those saying "it's basic cleaning, innit." Not everyone enjoys cleaning, and they'll be new tips for those.
She motivates you to want a nice looking house as well with her cheeriness.
Must say I can't get on board with stockpiling though, as I'm the opposite of a hoarder and it drives me mad- with a hoarding dh if I started we'd be doomed lol.

Yep. Zoflora is great for a few things, like after kids have been sick or had an accident. Once you've cleaned up, my final carpet cleans are done with diluted zoflora as it kills the bugs and helps with the smell.

It's also handy for bins and diluted as a spray round loo and door handles during illness outbreaks.

I use bleach rarely. Don't need to. Dishcloths are cotton and new one daily. Used ond goes in the hot wash with hand and teatowels. Easy.

I stockpile looroll slightly. Mainly because something in my house eats the stuff, the rate we go through it. So I buy those lacks of 24. They usually work out a bit cheaper per roll.

I have a cleaning caddy with Mr sheen, cloths X lots, and then eco granite spray, steel spray, and a multi purpose cleaner. Ooh and magic erasers. That's it. Why would you need more?

Loo cleaner is kept in the bathrooms and done daily. Can't see the need for sixy gazillion bottles.

I hate the smell of bleach. A bottle last me forever. I only use it in the loo if someone has vomited or had diarrhoea. Otherwise it's just normal loo cleaner.
Zoflora to me is basically a disinfectant. I definitely wouldn't be throwing neat bottles of it around. I use diluted Dettol to clean the bins and it does the job.

It's crazy the whole zoflora worship. Very bizarre!! People seem to be forgetting it's just a heavily scented disinfectant. Someone has asked if they can use it in an oil burner!!

I wish there was someone comparable to Mrs Hinch showing more natural methods of cleaning. I really like The Organised Mum.

Report
MissMarplesKnitting · 23/09/2018 18:59

The organised mum caters for different people: actually it's aimed at people who don't like cleaning much/are time poor but want a decent home that doesn't make them feel stressed, and not to spend the entire bloody weekend playing housework catch-up.

Hence the 30 minute 'system' and the recipes, meal planning etc.

Mrs Hinch is just a bit cleaning obsessed. I'm sure she's perfectly nice, but god, I bet shes boring IRL

I don't really understand it when people put comments like "getting my hinch on" or "hinching" on Facebook.
Surely they cleaned their houses before it became an Instagram trend?!
