AIBU?

To think that it's not transphobic

...to suggest that a man wearing a tiny miniskirt - which rides up over his hips with every step he takes - with no underwear on a busy high street is behaving inappropriately? And that as he was making no attempt to adjust his skirt, it was evident he was unbothered by the effect he might be having on everyone who passed him (mainly women and children at that time of day, dropping off at the local primary school)?

Apparently I'm transphobic and not respecting his right to wear what he wants. Apparently I should show understanding that he hasn't quite got his feminine look down pat. Apparently I'm misgendering him.

All accusations laid at my door elsewhere on the internet when I mentioned this (witnessed by me and hundreds of others on a local busy street yesterday morning, btw).

His right to wander around with his cock and balls hanging out trumps that of others to not see it. Women who have suffered assault, who might be especially upset. Children. Or, let's face it, anyone who doesn't want to see a stranger's twig and berries first thing on a Thursday morning.

At the risk of starting another Trans-themed bunfight, wtf is wrong with people?!

That is inappropriate regardless of whether a woman or a man is doing it, and also illegal. I hope that you pointed that out.

Would you be less annoyed if a knickerless woman leaned over and flashed her chocolate starfish at you? If you'd be okay with that, he might have a point. If not, I'd say you had a perfectly natural reaction to not wanting to see a stranger's junk.

That is fucking gross. Who accused you of misgendering? I am presuming he had fully intact male genitalia (as most of them do).

Oh FFS. That's not a transwoman, it's just a perv. Hmm

Plenty of people were taking photos and videos. YouTube is probably full of them!

Exactly it's illegal. At the risk of sounding like an old Doris, there was a time when he'd have been a flasher, end of. Now it seems he's a poor woman who doesn't know how to dress herself, and worthy of our pity.

For the record, I've gone on rallies and protests for trans rights in the past. I get it, I do. But don't take the fucking piss, eh.

Precisely. Couldn't give a toss what's in your pants as long as you keep it there. And if you don't, please can others who seem desperate to say the right thing not defend said flasher? Cheers Smile

My thoughts exactly. I've no idea how the chap in question self identifies and I wasn't about to ask. It's just the blind idiocy of people immediately jumping to the conclusion that he must be a tw and I'm Donald Trump's less liberal cousin for not supporting his right to let it all hang out.

I agree liz70 but it seems now that if a perv claims to be a trans woman, people will jump up and down to defend them. A while ago a so-called trans woman killed themselves in prison. Everyone on twitter was up in arms and tweeting stuff like 'RIP beautiful angel'. Said person was serving a sentence for stabbing someone to death. Angel indeed.

I have no issue with post-operative trans women diagnosed with gender dysphoria. I do have a problem with men claiming they are women but presenting as men and telling everyone that has a problem with it to 'suck their dick'.

No, he's just a common-or-garden flasher, not someone having difficulty adjusting their feminine look.

I am so tired of the same old sexual offenses being dressed up in new, "progressive" language.

This isn't someone who's a bit confused about how to dress in a feminine way, it's being a self absorbed arsehole.

No, it's a perv transwoman. Him being a perv does not making him not a transwoman.

You should have called the police about the person flashing his privates at people on the school run. If he had been in a mac you would have. You could still report it now.

Of course it's not bloody transphobic. Indecent exposure is indecent exposure regardless of sex or gender. Hmm

Where did this take place?

It's wonderful how much our society has progressed. Now perverts who get their kicks flashing their genitals at women and children are a protected class who need to be defended so people can display their liberal credentials.

Just cause he's wearing a skirt doesn't make him "trans" either. Unless you know this individual.

No it's not transphobic, people should keep their genitals under their skirt , idk what care what gender you wanna be

look he is completely BU, but why talk about it all over social media? I means what's to be gained really by discussing it with a load of crazy strangers online?

Yep.

What's even more perplexing, not to mention depressing, is that the women calling me out are all self-proclaimed feminists. Who apparently think it's OK for a man to commit a sexual offence, as long as he says he's a woman (and let's not forget there's no evidence as to how this man identifies, only speculation. Not that it would make a scrap of difference either way as far as I'm concerned).

Comes to something when feminists are defending a man's right to commit a sex crime. What a fucked up world.

I wouldn't say so although what were the events that led up to it? Was something said or done by you that made him accuse you of being transphobic and misgendering him?

Either way it's completely classless for anybody to be wandering around exposing their private because they're not wearing underwear.

why12345 · 13/10/2017 13:26

Nope you're not transphobic by thinking that. No one should be walking around flashing no matter who they are, and whoever said you're miss gendering him is barking mad just because he is wearing a skirt doesn't mean he wants to be a women! He could just like wearing them!! 😁

Sex/gender is not relative. Exposing yourself in public is a crime
