To use the disabled loo when I'm with my son?

My sons 9 months and obviously still in his pushchair. The majority of the time it's just me and him when I go into town/visit places. When I need the loo I get an attack of conscious, I normally use the disabled loo so I can bring him in with me.
Can't use a regular loo as I can't get him in the cubicle in his chair. Don't want to take him out of his pushchair and plonk him on the floor as the floors are manky and he will eat whatever is on the floor. He'll also probably try and crawl under the gap and interrupt someone else. Don't really like the idea of leaving him in his pushchair whilst I nip in the cubicle, so providing there isn't someone waiting for the disabled loos, AIBU to use them? I'm usually in and out and so far I've never encountered anyone waiting for one, or the impatient rattle of the door. If I am being unreasonable, short of pissing myself what's the options?

There have been many similar threads on this.

A lot of people will say YABU.

Others will point out that the toilets are accessible toilets and there to be used by anyone who needs the additional space.

There will be lots of comments about hidden disabilities.

I don't think YABU, but I suspect some will.

I use them when out and about if no other suitable alternative as I usually have baby strapped to my front in sling plus pre schooler who needs help getting off and on the toilet and with wiping. I am also not a small woman. I have tried managing the three of us in and out of a normal cublicle and I physically can't manage, especially when you get very narrow ones.

Most are accessible and often have a baby changing area so not sure what the problem is or why you feel the need post?

YABU, because if everyone with a small child did this the disabled toilets would never be available for disabled people to use.

Plan your trip. Look for places that have family toilets or larger cubicles.

You are not disabled therefore don't need to use the disabled toilet.

I have before with my son. He is 9 and has aspergers and a SPD. I can't leave him outside a public bathroom on his own -he would either get distracted and wander off or panic and scream if somebody uses a hand dryer. We can't both fit in a regular loo together and we occasionally get frowned out for using a ladies loo with a bigger boy in tow. I don't think YABU but it is a contentious issue and you will get a lot of YABU! I can't imagine you take more than a few minutes (if that).

Nah, I do it all the time, I have two boys 6 & 2. The 6 year old is having a wee while I'm doing a nappy change (usually the facilities are in the disabled loo) and then I have a wee.

I think the worst thing I've done is breast feed in one and the baby was taking such a long feed I felt bad when I got out as there was someone who needed it. But then there was no where I felt comfortable to bf.

As above, YABU, your preference for convenience cannot be at the expense of someone's need. Unless you have a disability that necessitates using the accessible toilet, the accessible toilet is not an option for you, however quick you think you will be

Seriously though I took my seven yr old whose in nappies to a special needs charity thing at a pub the other day the accessible toilets are also the baby change.

Damned if you do (they are for disabled only) and damned if you dont (not safeguarding your small child if you leave child unattended). I personally think yanbu and did the same as you on many occasions
