AIBU?

AIBU to ask is there proof of Angels?

I saw the lady on This Morning who believes with out doubt in Angels and I couldn't get over how serene and calm she was. I was discussing it at school gates this afternoon and one mum said despite the proof of their existence she felt it was gullible to believe.

I'd like to do some more reading and want to ask is there any proof?

No, there's no proof because they don't exist.

Nope. You either believe or you don't. If you believe you can interpret certain things as proof. If you don't believe you won't be swayed by anyone else's version of proof.

Also, I don't believe in angels but am generally quite calm and serene. At school I'm known to be cool, entirely unshockable and unflappable. That's not a belief in angels, it's a belief that I can deal with anything life chucks at me.

No of course not. There is no proof of the existence of angels, gods, ghosts or anything supernatural at all. People wouldn't be constantly arguing about their beliefs if there were actual proof of any of it!

If people's belief is proof then we really are in trouble. Because the same person can believe contradictory things. Like this nugget of nonsense, one mum said despite the proof of their existence she felt it was gullible to believe.

Believe in them if it makes you happy but there is no proof. Because they don't exist.

Did you ask what the proof of their existence was? Confused

No. There's about as much evidence for the existence of angels as there is for the existence of the tooth fairy.

What proof? And as for seraphin, cherubs... All very confusing.

I'm not sure I understand what you'r saying OP.

What does believing in angels have to do with being serene and calm?

And what 'proof' did the woman at the school gate think there was?

And if indeed their is actual proof, why would anyone be gullible if they believed it? Confused

Is that a statement or are we off on an Abba thread?

Well are we talking first sphere, second sphere or third sphere? Cherubim, seraphim, thrones, dominions, virtues, powers, principalities or arch angels? Or do you not mean Christian angels?

It's all bollocks but the nephilim are the most interesting part imo.

Of course YABU to ask if angels exist. The real question is, how many of them can dance on the head of a pin.
