To think I got 'spiked'

I did what you're not supposed to do.

I picked up an abandoned glass of fizz, and I drank it as I'm flat broke after Christmas, had a Diet Coke at the pub but wanted a fizz and couldn't afford to buy my own Xmas Blush it was just sitting there at the bar. Already had a few glasses of wine at home with a meal then popped into our local to see some friends at about 11:30. DP had to carry me home, (his poor back!) I can't remember a thing and apparently was pretty much unconscious and when I did wake up a bit, totally incoherent- I couldn't form any words. He said he had to move all my limbs like a puppet to get me on my side in bed then didn't want to leave me alone so just played on iPad most of the night.

I feel appalling now. Shaky and sick and a racing heart and I've drank loads of water but can't seem to wee Xmas Blush

It was the local bit-up-it's-Arse-gastro-pub and I know 'mine-sweeping' a drink is a bit student and scummy and I shouldn't have done it, but I'm starting to think it must have been laced with something and whoever it was bought for thought better of it and left it alone. Total memory blackout from about half an hour after I drank it, and before that I was ever so slightly tipsy but holding a conversation and dancing. Only wanted to stick my head in to see in the New Year.

I'm so stupid aren't I Xmas Blush Xmas Blush

Well, yes...
But I would be on damage limitation now. I'd want to speak to a doctor about your reaction.
You could always say it was carnage at the bar and there's every chance you picked up someone else's glass?

That's worrying, look on the bright side, you probably saved someone from a really terrible evening! Lucky for you someone was there to take you home

DP said he could have literally done anything to someone in that state (he wouldn't obviously just saying there would have been zero resistance) but yes glad whoever it was meant for didn't touch it and I was safe with DP. I should tell the pub- but I'm embarrassed.

Certainly sounds possible. Thank God you made it home.

Minesweeping is so dangerous I was so upset when I found out that's what my "friends" had been doing when claiming they'd bought Me the drinks they gave me.

Don't ever do that again !!

Yy to telling the pub so maybe security can keep a better eye out or something

Happy you had your dp to assist you. Hope you start feeling better as the day goes on.

It was a busy night... they won't know if they served you, or served a friend who brought the drink to you.
You can tell the pub with the comment I mention above - say it's possible you put your drink down and got someone else's, or that yours was spiked by someone.

Ellisandra you're right I could tell them that and it sounds much better than saying I just swiped a glass!

My eldest DD and her friends put magic in their drinks, so that's the danger when stealing other people's drinks.

Glad you're ok Op as that's a horrible experience for you. I agree with the others though, you should tell the pub - no need to say about mine sweeping if you're embarrassed by that, just that you picked your glass up off the bar & then don't remember a thing.

Didn't your dp have any money to buy you a drink ?

Glad you're ok but minesweeping drinks is just awful. I remember seeing someone trying to do it in a pub once and someone else yelled "That's my drink, buy your own you cheap shit!".

It's MDMA, similar to ecstasy.

We've already had a "few glasses" of wine.

How many?

MadHattersWineParty · 01/01/2017 11:31

Lilaclily to be fair to him I said I didn't want a proper one (it's expensive in there and he'd bought dinner and wine at home) and he just got me the Diet Coke. I did want one really though so should have just said!

Is it legal? Can't imagine my mum would have been cool with me putting that in my drink when younger!

Shared bottle of wine with dinner, chardonnay. I actually wasn't fussed about going out or drinking at all.

Because it's easy to underestimate how many, especially over a long evening.
A shared bottle shouldn't be too bad, esp, with food.

How can you tell if you have been spiked or just really drunk?

There's one incident that sticks in my mind I cannot explain and I don't remember enough to figure it out.

Report
MadHattersWineParty · 01/01/2017 11:43

Half a bottle of wine with a meal wouldn't make me drunk.
