Is it just me that cleans up hotel rooms before leaving ??!

Dp thinks it's odd, I bag up absolutely all rubbish, leave bins etc on counters, used towels will be put in the sink and if I have time i'll strip the bed.

In dps fairness he made the comment when I pointed him to the loo with a bottle of shower gel and wad of loo roll after he left a skiddy in their but seriously, I can't be the only one who does this ?? Am I really the only one who would be mortified at the thought of someone tackling the remains of my breakfast in the loo bowl ??!

It's odd. You are paying for the room and part of that is they do all of those things for you.

I don't strip beds but do put rubbish in bin etc

I would always rinse the shower.
Leave bed straight it not made IYSWIM. So not all tucked in but not in a heap.
YY to all rubbish in bins.
If toothpaste in sink etc I would clean off.
Open window to air if poss.
Lilly yes I paid for the room and yes they employ cleaners but cleaners are given x number of minutes to sort out each room and really shouldn't be faced with rubbish strewn rooms and poo smeared loos!

I leave the toilet clean, but no way would I bag the rubbish, strip the beds or put the towels away. I do enough of that at home, thank you very much.

I don't strip Beds (that's a bit weird!) but I make sure all rubbish is in bins ect

I don't strip the bed but make it look tidy. All rubbish in the bin, used towels in the bath and I have been known to leave the toilet roll with a point at the end .

You're insane. As a pp has said, you PAY for the service. I'm sure the cleaners are grateful (I worked a ski season as a chambermaid once while at uni) but only because you're doing their job for them.

I don't strip the bed but I wouldn't leave it in a state - apart from anything else, if there's rubbish everywhere how do you know if you've left anything, e.g. Knickers under the bed?

I know I'm paying, but I don't need to make their job harder so I leave it reasonable.

I tidy up after ourselves in hotels, oh yes. I couldn't leave it messy.

Worse though, I tidy up in lavatories too - I can't leave a cubicle with paper strewn on the floor, or water pooled all over the sink area.

I always leave rubbish bags etc at waist height to help minimise the constant bending and lifting.

Yes I know I paid for a service but I also know hotel cleaners are usually on very low / minimum wage and aren't given long to clean each room.

I leave it clean and tidy ...no skiddy loos!
I tidy up mainly to check I haven't forgotten anything...
I pull the covers down on the bed (to check nothing has been left but don't strip it ...)
On holiday recently the maid came when I was 'resting' in the room in the afternoon (hot country, room had air con). She offered to come back later but I thought that would be a pain for her ..I helped her make the beds ....afterwards I thought that might have seemed odd -but I couldn't have just watched...

I always rinse the toothpaste spit from the sink and wouldn't dream of leaving a dirty loo. I put all rubbish in the bin and straighten the bed to make sure I haven't left anything tangled up in it

I used to work in housekeeping so I leave it as I would have loved to have found it.

Beds stripped, towels in bath, bins tidy, cups washed up.

I tidy round too and open windows. But would not strip beds. I don't think it's nice to leave it in a state!

I always strip the beds and put rubbish in the bins and things.
It takes less than a minute to strip a bed but you can bet it makes the cleaner's life so much easier.

I tidy up, empty bin, put towels in sink, but don't strip bed. I think it's because I was a chambermaid when I was a teen.
