To think being tickled is like torture?

I hate it, fucking hate it!!
Woken by 'd'bro hauling me off the sofa with his hands under my armpits tickling me. He knows I hate it and I screamed and told him to fuck the fuck off before it got to that point you can't breathe. When he stopped I was crying and found it really horrible but he thinks I'm being an 'unhinged headcase'. our mum's despaired of us both. probably because I'm 29 and he's 39 I don't think it's an unreasonable reaction if you can't help it.

I your 39 year old brother wanting to tickle you is deeply weird. Have you told him you don't want him to? I HATE being tickled and I absolutely get why it might reduce you to tears.

Oh god this winds me up too!

For me it's the combination of being tickled against my will and the lack of control.

For some people it's funny, for others it's not. I don't think YABU. Does your brother know how much it winds you up?

Have you told him you don't want him to?
By this I mean have you talked to him calmly but firmly after it stopped saying you don't want it to ever happen again?

I hate it too OP. Very weird indeed for your brother to be tickling you to that extent, or at all. Is he usually a bully towards you?

"Mental case"

Really? Hmm

Yeah used to do it when we were growing up. All the sort of annoying older sibling stuff that winds you up until you snap. And for me snapping = crying

The closest I've come to a panic attack happened when an ex BF tickled me. Seriously unfunny when you can't breathe.

YANBU i absolutely hate being tickled it's torture to me. DP thinks it's fun and that I'm weird for hating it but it actually hurts when I'm tickled.

I hate being tickled. It's not fun at all. In fact it's bordering on painful.

Your brother is acting like some kind of bully. What almost 40 year old drags his sleeping sister off the couch and starts tickling like they're children?

Omg o
What torture
Ask him If he'd like you to kick him in The bollocks repeatedly until,he cries and if he ever does it again you will and then do something
He seems to not be taking you seriously so you need to make him
Have an almighty tantrum right now and threaten to call the police his employers anyone who he thinks highly of and let them know what a bully he is

My god, this is like that other thread with the men who wake their partners up in the mornings, despite being asked not to.

Who are these men, who seem to get off on doing the opposite of what they are asked? What's wrong with them? All the men I know would be mortified to act this way in the first place, let alone be angrily told not to.

Tell him you've read it shows there is sexual attraction on the part of the tickler.... Bet he never does it again !

Yes but you grow out of it. I wouldn't dream of tickling my sisters now.

It's sexual when you're grown up. He's a bit pervy (and that's putting it nicely). Tell him if he does it again you'll consider it an assault and call the police.

When I get tickled it's horrible and quite painful.
My body also flails quite a bit. Don't know if it's an automatic reaction or because I'm in pain or whatever
Dh thought it was hilarious until I broke his nose Blush Grin

I remember being reduced to tears by being tickled by my brother.

Horrible, stupid behaviour on your brother's part. It's time he grew up and realised it's not funny. And he thinks it's hilarious to do this until you feel you can't catch your breath and you start to panic. Sorry was that 39 you said he is or did you mean 9? Stupid man.

I'd speak to him when he's not being so stupid and tell him it's not to happen again and how it makes you feel.

We don't live together (that would be torture) he's just staying at my mum's for the week.

He used to be quite Bullying when I was little but he was going through some teenage stuff at the time and would always apologies loads when I'd start crying. He's nothing like that anymore.

There's no need to lie. Firmly tell him it never happens again. If he doesn't respect that, I wouldn't spend any time with him.

God even reading about this made me tense up. Absolutely hate it. I'd be furious.
