To wonder if I'm ever going to get a bloody Christmas dinner?

At DP's Dad's in East London for Christmas. It's been lovely, loads of family and friends calling in, more booze than the local pub stocks, anything you want.

Christmas dinner been on since about 9. Things have been ready in that time and been taken out to 'go back in at the end'.

But when is the end?!! I'm so hungry that when we ran out of tonic water I legged it to the offy and had a secret packet of crisps on the way back. We had a croissant at 10 and nothing since then.

I'm smashed and bleeding hungry! They've just busted open a keg so I'm not sure dinner is going to happen at all.

There's a baby here who has a rusk. I'm eyeing that up right now. I don't think she'd put up much of a fight, but she has slobbered on it.

If you were a bit closer I'd say come have my left overs. We've just finished enough food for 12 between 4 of us.

Make yourself a nice turkey sandwich and did em

I wish I could!

I've just seen the spuds go in a cold pan of water.... I'm going to paralytic before I see a bit of turkey!

Just drink more. Eventually you'll get to that stage where you're so drunk you won't fancy eating anything. Merry xmas!

Agree with notquite you'll probably have passed out in a drinken state before food arrives.

Oh my word. You're just going to have to drink through it and open the twiglets.

We're digesting the main now trying to make room for the pud.

Love it Euphemia fgrin

I bloody lové coking a full on roast but as a guest I'm not permitted to 'help out' get the bloody thing to the table I'm just palmed off with gin. Which is lovely but I just went in the airing cupboard instead of the downstairs loo. I did realise thankfully but a few more and it'll be touch and go to be honest.

howtorebuild Fri 25-Dec-15 16:00:04

I put mine on at three, it will be ready about 4.30

CheesyNachos Fri 25-Dec-15 16:05:28

I like coking on a full roast too.grin

God OP, hope you get some food soon. That sounds bloody grim to be honest.

megletthesecond Fri 25-Dec-15 16:06:21

Bloody hell. I'm a LP and even I managed xmas dinner by 2:30 and with the dc's under my feet .

I'd be climbing the walls with hunger if I were in your shoes. It's a bit rude not feeding guests until this late.

MadHattersWineParty Fri 25-Dec-15 16:08:23

Oh god. I previewed that post aswell.

I'm smashed. I think I'm on the 10th gin now

What's the idea, you'll be so smashed you won't know if it tastes terrible?
If they weren't serving food at a decent hour they should have done a full breakfast.
I'd pee in the airing cupboard as revenge grin

esiotrot2015 Fri 25-Dec-15 16:14:55

Haven't you got a kids selection box you can raid

Or where are the festive nuts and cheesy footballs

You can't drink gin on Xmas day without twiglets shock

Placemarking. I need to know if OP gets her dinner before she falls into an alcoholic stupor.
