I'd have to add ham for it to be just right but basically yes.

Loads of salt and ketchup mmmmmmmmmmm

That meal is basically why I eat runny eggs despite of being pregnant.

You are right......except it's chips and egg Grin

With brown sauce, two slices of white buttered bread and a large pot of strong sweet tea?

Yes, I concur.

Chips and egg makes me think of Shirley Valentine.

I'm 47, back in the day Friday night tea was egg and chips as it was all that was in the house, a bag of potatoes by the back door being the staple of the pantry to assist eggs.

Oh YANBU.

Fantastic meal that goes down well with the entire family. One son and me like peas with it, husband and other one like beans, both sons like a sprinkle of mature cheddar.

I don't think I've ever had egg and chips. It seems a strange combination to me. Goodness knows why as I've eaten scrambled eggs with hashbrowns and Spanish omlettes plenty of times.

Egg, with runny yolk,
Golden deep fried chips,
Spoon of beans
And a Sausage < This makes it God tier Grin
Also: Bread and butter for chip sarnies.

I love egg and chips.
Or chips and egg, as Shirley Valentine put it.

Cheesymonster · 08/11/2015 20:05

Oh yes. NoelHeadbands has it exactly right.

Double egg even better. Has to be with salt and malt vinegar and a mug of tea.

My lovely Dad used to make it.

With proper chips. Potatoes dried on a tea towel then fried in the chip pan.

Brown sauce to go with. I always insisted on the Daddies brand Grin.

With a bit of grated cheese on the yolks.

And maybe Philadelphia on the side to dip the chips in.
