AIBU?

To hate the good weather

Garden noise. It goes right through me. Cackling neighbour and her chain smoking, the never ending squeak of trampoline springs from dawn to dusk, crap music being piped out from somewhere in competition with another type of crap music from a different direction, the grotty smell of bbqs.

I'm a grump. I'm an antisocial grump.

I think I need to move

I hear you. All of what you said plus a distinct lack of need for any further source of heat at this particular stage of my life. I find it absolutely hellish!

Move to Scotland. We have rain and 50mph wind here today.

Yanbu this weather is too hot. 18-20 degrees is perfect, but this weather is annoying and makes me irritable.

IMo Britain is not designed for warm weather, our pace of life is too fast, our homes have thick walls and very little places have air con.

Ooh YANBU I hate anything over 25c, I work in a hot environment as it is so the sun can just do one as far as I'm concerned. Neighbours nightly BBQ belching smoke into our house if the wind catches it right, sure it's 99% lighter fluid it stinks!

Kids left unsupervised in the garden all day so constant screaming closely followed by whinging and crying where one sister hit the other. Kids play but after 4 or 5 hours I can't take much more high pitched whining. Other side neighbours are great thankfully. I am a miserable old bag in the summer, give me freezing conditions any day or just an eternal Spring would be better.

We used to live in a terraced house with low-walled gardens, pot-head, belching, trance-music-playing fuckers of neighbours on either side. Ruined every summer in our garden.

It's much nicer since we moved into a house surrounding by elderly neighbours.

Now we're probably the annoying ones Grin

I love the warm weather, just not the way it can make people behave.

I agree euphemia then with the hot days comes the incosiderate late night revellers- in the freezing months you don't get screeching cars with blaring music or people returning home late at night or early in the morning shouting and singing in the streets which is really loud in the dead of night.

I hate the fact that we have to have all our windows open which means the neighbour's dog's barking is REALLY loud.

I'm on the east coast of Scotland too and long for a sunny day, what a joy to be able to hear people having fun outside. We are inside praying the trampoline stays in situ and that our chimney stays put.

I do like the warm weather but live in Brighton and the beach and the seafront play area is going to be packed today which I don't like. I live in a much more residential area in a flat but one set of neighbours have friends that in the summer like to visit them at 3/4am but the neighbours aren't aware or not in and don't respond to the banging on the main entrance door. Last night a man stood there for about 2 hours calling out, 'Louie, Joe, Andy!'. Another neighbour told him to go away and he was told by this man to 'fuck off'. It only happens on the warm nights.

I must be bonkers because I love everything in the OP Grin

It's nice to sit in the garden with all the various sounds and smells (not sure about fag smoke, although it doesn't bother me outside).

Red hair. Check.
Skin that burns in the shade. Check.
Hayfever. Check.

I genuinely want to hear the words Winter in coming (in a non dead Stark way)

Hayfever
Clammy, smelly flesh on display
Live in a seaside town=hell on earth
No air con, so work is over 40 degrees when it's warm outside
Screaming children and their plastic tat for 12 hours straight
Spiders the size of rats
Moths the size of your face
Supermarkets empty after topless men ransack the BBQ and booze aisles

Tedious.

YANBU. At all. I cannot stand the hot weather. Don't like gardens or gardening. Don't like going to the beach. Don't like summer clothes and no one has done anything bad enough to see me in summer clothes. Roll on autumn, stews, jumpers and putting the heating on. Bliss.

PaigeMahoney · 06/06/2015 13:01

Agreed re winter is coming. Can't come soon enough. I'd even fend off a couple of white walkers if it meant no summer for a prolonged period. Bah humbug.

Yanbu. It's not the weather itself that I don't like so much though. It's everything else that comes with it. Great if you and your kids are off work/school tomorrow and you want to sit outside all evening enjoying yourselves. Not so great if you're all shrieking like bloody banshees all night, playing loud music, and the rest of us have to get up at 6.30 to drop kids at nursery and get to work.

That's why I like winter - keeps the noisy fuckers indoors so my DC have a hope of getting some sleep.

Another one in Scotland who would love some warm weather. Going to have to buy DS some long sleeved tops at this rate, too cold for summer clothes. Fed up of the wind and having cancel plans because the weather's too shit.

No, YANBU. I am beginning to dread the warm days too. I love being in the garden, enjoying the sunshine. I hate the late night parties outside in the back gardens when I can hear drunken arseholes shouted 'conversations' word for word (she's a fucking slag ...fuck this ...fuck that you cunt) until gone 1am, and the stinky bonfires from the man up the road who lights up everytime it's nice outside. Then there's the twat with a hot tub and the sound system paying shitty music all night (think Kid Rock).

felkov · 06/06/2015 13:23

Everyone who says YANBU should move to Scotland. I'm still in my winter coat and the forecast is 10 degrees heavy rain and gales. I still have the winter cozytoes on the buggy and most days this week needed the raincover too.

I'd love a week of hot weather!
