AIBU?

AIBU to not understand the concept of tea in bed?

I've read many comments on this site about DHs bringing DWs tea in bed on a daily basis. Are people's lives actually like that? Every day?
Feel a bit Hmm . We have to take turns.
AIB selfish to wish I experienced the joy of waking up to a cup of tea like so many of you seem to?
Or is this actually a myth and everyone has to make their own tea really?

(may be overthinking a tad)

Oooh I'd love someone to bring me a cuppa in bed on a morning.
I'd revoke my man ban if I knew I'd get that.

Just me and dd here, so no tea in bed for us. However, she attempted to do the breakfast in bed thing last Mother's day. I ended up with a toothbrush, a piece of bread covered in salt/talc, and a cup of water i'm sure she dished from the toilet. Oh, all delivered to me on a bath mat.

Put me off tea in bed for life, tbh. Especially since i had to 'eat it all up' for her.

Mon - Fri dh brings me a cuppa - drunk in bed or whilst getting ready for work
Weekends I take him one and ds (his important job bless him) is in charge.of biscuit carrying.

Works for us :)

I remember when dp and i liked each other enough to do things like that :( it was lovely. Not now though, we seem to try and spend as much time away from each other as possible.

Yus, I do get brought tea in bed every morning, which is amazing :) The only problem is, whenever we have an argument he goes into one about it :/ So each time I tell him that I will get a kettle in my bedroom (We live in a four storey house and its far too much effort to walk downstairs lol).

I wouldn't be happy if DH did this, hate the idea of food/drink in the bedrooms. I don't have tea in the mornings either, it takes me ages to drink a mug as I can't drink it too hot.

He makes a hot breakfast at weekends but drags me out of bed at the ungodly hour of 10.30 to eat it at the table, like a civilised person.

Yes mon-fri as he gets up before me. Unless he's in a rush when it will be on the kitchen work top :)

Bit off topic but relevant

Do those tea maid machines still exist. Remember my dgps having one. It was an alarm clock which when at the right time started to boil the little kettle and like a special holder to place the cups. I think it thought it was the height of 70s gadgetry

Yes, but the milk is still an issue with tea makers (unless you take it black).

A trip to the fridge ruins it.

Weekends for me, though he does get out of bed almost an hour earlier then he needs to through the week to make me a coffee to have in the car.

My DH is excellent.

I used to make my husband breakfast in bed (coffee, juice, toast) every week day for years until he went part time and didn't need to get up early any more.

My dh does bring me tea in bed every morning, but he is a lark and I'm an owl - and he does no housework .............
so its his way of compensating for all the other stuff he doesn't do ConfusedSmileHmm
