Obviously I know it will never happen, but whereas other people dream about winning the lottery, having a new car or buying the house of their dreams... I dream about being the front woman of a band headlining at glastonbury grin

I do play in a duo with DP, but so far we've not been brave enough (or able to agree on a set list) to perform properly in public (only in front of friends/family)

<<sigh>> I just want to be Robert Plant (but not if he's the one boffing liz jones)

My DP and kids think that I'm a saddo. And they are probably right wink

Flame me and make me bloody grow up.

I am in my forties and I am still very certain that I am poised for stardom.

I will be talent spotted. I have heard Geri Halliwell sing and I think - I could do that! smile

Will you need a guitarist for your band?
<<also destined for rock fame>>

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:27:06

Suncottage, maybe we could form a band..a MN supergroup?!!

I'll share lead vocals <<magnanimous face>> but I must do lead guitar (as long as you don't expect fancy solo's)

And we have to wear leather trousers and demand pom bears on our rider.

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:27:45

Giyadas - can you do fancy solo's? You can step in for me in those bits.

AurraSing Tue 30-Aug-11 16:29:34

I've never given up hope. The fact that I can't sing, play any instrument or have a glimmer of song writing ability doesn't dampen my dream.

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:30:17

Aurra, you can be our Bez.

giyadas Tue 30-Aug-11 16:30:22

semi-fancy (think muse)
can do bass too, if you've baggsied guitar.
<desperate for fame grin>

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:31:03

Oh yes, you can do bass. But none of that level 42 shit.

AurraSing Tue 30-Aug-11 16:33:11

grin I'll practice my moves.

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:34:08

I'll spring for the maraca's grin

giyadas Tue 30-Aug-11 16:34:56

no, more like Sgt Floyd Pepper from the muppets.
without as much facial hair

37? Spring bloody chicken!!! The advantage of Jagger, Richards and Cliff still doing the circuit is that if you think you're over the hill for a rock-star, they're on a whole other hill.

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:37:51

We need MNHQ to sponsor us and buy the equipment and leather trousies. They could make a film about us, it would rival spinal tap I'm sure.

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:38:30

Cogito, you make a very valid point!!

MumblingRagDoll Tue 30-Aug-11 16:39:00

YANBU I am 38 and know that stardom is just around the corner. Movies for me!

giyadas Tue 30-Aug-11 16:39:36

we'll need a talc allowance as well.

ThePathanKhansWoman Tue 30-Aug-11 16:40:00

I can do great 'Jazz Hands'.Am i in? <hopeful>.

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:40:31

<<looks at thighs>> and a lot of leather.

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:41:08

Pathan, there is always room for jazz hands. You and 'bez' can do general prancing.

SuePurblybilt Tue 30-Aug-11 16:41:31

You could go on X Factor and be famous, like Asda Mary. She was 40+, so was SuBo. Or Wagner grin

Not very rock'n'roll though, granted. You'll have to be discovered in a grotty pub somewhere.

iklboo Tue 30-Aug-11 16:41:45

I can play triangle & that keyboard shaped thing you blow to play. And the glockenspiel. Not much call for a 'rockenspiel' though I s'pose blush

redheadbedhead Tue 30-Aug-11 16:42:12

can I play keys?? I am DESPERATE to be in a band full time...

giyadas Tue 30-Aug-11 16:42:17

mumbling, you could make your debut in the music video. T'would then just be a matter of time, surely.

alistron1 Tue 30-Aug-11 16:42:22

Sue, ffs - we're talking about forming a rock supergroup...not being fucking Jedward wink
