AIBU?

I don't want a piss mat

In my new bathroom.

They look tatty after a few days, are essentially a sponge of piss and they stink like the gent's urinals. I've told DH I don't want one and he looked at me like I'd just told him that we're definitely going to have to start shitting on the dining table.

Disclaimer: the floor on our bathroom is now wipeable, so I can easily disinfect in every day if need be.

AIBU to not want a piss mat?

I don't have a piss mat. They're mank.
You definately do need to start shitting on the dining table, though.

YANBU, especially since you won't have to shit in the bathroom any more...you'll be spending less time in there and won't need a mat.

Another reason against the rug of piss: my mum says I definitely need one. My mum thinks that it is "trendy" to place all of your bog rolls in a chrome dispenser next to the bog.

Pissmats are unhygienic. They just need to learn to aim straight or sit down.

YANBU. No piss mat here either.

I love them! They don't stink of piss, if anyone pissed on them, there would be trouble! They are lovely and warm on my feet! It is like having teddy beats cuddle your feet! I will admit to using them to dry the floor after dds enthusiastic hand washing!

They were good in their day as lino wasn't so great and you couldn't get the vast array of sealants you can now and when people had carpet in their bathrooms - but these days there's no need for them ... well actually, if there were no men around they'd be quite nice to keep your tootsies warm in winter!!... much much much better off just keeping the floor clean :)

Why does DH think you need one? ... to keep his toes warm or 'because me mam always had one'??

Not underneath a doll with a Spanish crochet dress? Has your Mum got any class at all? Shock

YANBU. They are dirty, minging things that don't even look vaguely nice.

Also, it is no longer the 80's.

No piss-mats allowed in this house either.

YANBU! Is the point of piss mats that they do absorb all the poorly aimed wee and prevent it from getting on the floor? I've never actually considered it before... I just thought they were "decorative" to match the bath mat, although I've never really understood why anyone would have one. In fact I don't think I've seen one in years. Can you even still buy them??? Confused

"Why does DH think you need one? ... to keep his toes warm or 'because me mam always had one'??"

I think that it's because there might be some danger of him having to learn to aim straight Hmm
