How to stop cybex base from beeping?

I picked up our cybex cloud z base today and had it installed. This evening I’ve taken it out of my car to keep in the house for the time being, but we can’t work out how to stop it beeping when it’s not installed in the car. Can anyone please help?!

I have a different brand to cybex but with ours, it stops beeping if you prop it up with st least some of its' weight on the front leg. So mimicking how it sits in the car.

Polestar50 · 29/06/2019 23:30

Ours came with a bit of plastic you slide into the leg to stop the beeping when out if the car. Do you have any accessories with the seat? Could there be something similar in there?

Bubble77bee · 29/06/2019 23:39

@Polestar50 that’s what I thought. I think the lady in the shop took that bit out when she fitted it, but hasn’t given it to me. We have temporarily done as you’ve suggested though and propped it up to stop it beeping!

Oh good. I'm glad it's stopped the beep, even if it's only a temporary fix!
Hope you have a good, quiet eve now.

@Bubble77bee hi, I just got the same base and the beeping drove us crazy. We have put pressure on it but did you find a long term solution? Thank you!

Mumsworld20 · 06/12/2019 14:35

So at the back there's a slot on the leg.

You need to turn the isofix upside down on the floor. Pull the leg in as far as it can go/fold in and then put it in the slot on the back - that stops the beeping. I ended up calling cybex!

Good luck, one way to send a new mum into meltdown mode haha!

Also ended up speaking to cybex on their WhatsApp support +44 7418 310572. As well as fully closing the leg so it fits into its slot on the back, you need to make sure the button is fully released (check fully released button position when leg extended). For the latest cloud z base it doesn't matter what position the base as a whole is in (as mentioned by previous post), and the bleeping should stop instantly.

Should the leg on the new Cloud Z base remain fixed in the slot underneath? It holds if the base is level upside down but as soon as the seat is tilted which is usually, the leg pops out of the slot and starts beeping again. Is this a fault?

AnatolM · 24/02/2021 21:57

Hello.
I opened today my brand new base Z to have it installed and alarm started to beep instantly after I removed battery paper.
It doesn't matter what i do with leg, it beeps all the time, even if all 3 marks are green when it is installed in my car. Do you think there an issue with my base? I took base in my home now, removed battery and alarm stopped. Didn't find other way for this issue.
Bubble77bee, how did you solve the issue?

I have also the same issue like NCAC described:

NCAC, is this an issue?

Jevgenija · 09/04/2021 19:45

Hi! We just opened and have the same issue! Please help, did you find the solution ??

AnatolM · 09/04/2021 20:56

I didn't find any solution. Cybex didn't help me either. I'm using it without battery.

Dineshrav · 05/07/2021 15:03

To solve all of the above just remove the circular battery (make sure to keep out of reach of children as if ingested can cause death) and this can be done with a Philips (star/Cross) head screwdriver

Dineshrav · 05/07/2021 15:04

Forgot to mention it is located near the bottom of the leg

GertieB · 18/07/2021 10:49

Ok so the grey button on the arm, needs to be clicked 'out' like it is when the arm is fully extended. If the arm is in the slot on the back and the grey button is clicked out, the noise will stop.
I've just done it on mine after 15 mins of faffing

Nawellita · 24/10/2021 20:29

Good evening
I had the same issue. 3 green lights and non stop bipping. Did you find a solution please ? Did you return your product ?
Many thanks for your help.
Best regards

MrsMwithakiss · 28/10/2021 11:08

Hi the correct way to stop the beeping when in storage for a while is to remove the battery from the back of the leg then replace with a new battery when you begin to use it again. Xx

MrsMilsom · 16/02/2022 18:33

Oh my word! You are brilliant. We boxed the CYBEX up, having clicked the leg into the base, but of course as soon as I'd taped up the box it started bleeping again. Have located the battery and removed until we need to use again. THANK YOU SO MUCH - I was goinh mad!

Starbeach · 16/05/2022 01:39

Thank you all mines just randomly started beeping at 130 in the morning ❤

XplusYplusZ · 12/02/2023 14:41

It’s very annoying that the leg just flops around when not in use.
The beeping is obviously designed to alert you that the seat hasn’t been installed correctly. It does this when there isn’t enough weight on the load leg of the base. A little pressure pushing up on the foot of the leg indicates to the seat it’s properly installed and switches the beep off.
When folded, the “heel” of the foot is supposed to fit into a small slot in the base (see picture). With the button in the “open” position (Ie. The leg is springy) the heel pushes against the wall of the small slot, and provides that little bit of pressure to turn off the beeping.
But due to a bizarre lack of design, it seems the small slot doesn’t hold the heel in place and the leg flaps around like an angry parent trying to stop a beeping noise.
Due to the sloped design of the heel, the leg will even work its way out of the slot when stored upside down. So really, the only way to store the base when not in use, is to sit it on the floor, right way up, and let gravity push the leg against the base, with heel in the slot.
This is not a problem for 99% of the time, but very annoying for pretty much every new user of the product - and in case you’re transporting or shipping the base.
removing the battery is an obvious option, but you will compromise the alarm as a safety feature if you don’t reinstall when fitting the base in a car.
I might see if I can fashion a little clip with bungee cord or zip tie to keep the leg secured when folded.

My solution for (silent) storage when not in use… 1 rubber, band strong enough to keep the leg firmly in the slot in the base, looped over the leg and anchored by the two isofix adjustment buttons..
Honestly, Cybex - I expected better.

1 - click the grey button on the leg and slide the leg in to the shortest position
2 - click the grey button again and slide the leg out until the grey button is out
3 - fold the leg flat
4 - press the foot on the leg in,and it will click into the base ( so there is always pressure on the springy foot.

the problem is that the spring foot can slip out easily.
I tied some string around the leg so it can slip out of the slot.

Good luck
