I think it's really hard to say how it will go, even with the almost certain change in government.
Right now it's also almost certain the Liberals will have a new leader before then. Whether that mitigates the landslide is difficult to say, I suspect it won't to any great degree.
Part of the issue is that so much has already been encoded in law, and human rights stuff which is not always easy to change once it's been done.
But I alsl think a lot may depend on what the media do. As far as major voices in the media, the National Post is the only place you regularly find GI critical articles. And while it's a major national newspapers, only certain people read it - a lot will assume anything it prints is likely to be bigoted.
I don't see the CBC changing their coverage. But maybe CTV/Global might start being more open in their reporting and they are the other major national broadcast station.
I really think the lack of robust media in Canada, and the much healthier media in the UK, made a big difference in getting the ball rolling against GI.
