Are Converse boots/ shoes acceptable for the over 30s?

I want some. I have some money for them. But will I be mocked on my return to the UK? They are quite acceptable here but then so are fanny packs and white socks.

Do I get shoes or boots?

Black or more interesting?

54 - wear black and my DD's blue ones; she now wants to pinch mine. About being too old for all this? No-one has ever said this to me. And lived

I'm wearing one of my 3 pairs of converse now (navy no lace) and I'm (shh) in my 40s.....

Converse look great on everyone. My mum is pushing 50 and looks ridiculously good in jeans & converse (far better than I do at 23 )

Go for it .. they always look great I think with jeans or linen trousers...I'd probably go for the grey myself! French women always look uber stylish in this sort of combo - and they get the trousers/sneaker thing just right, whatever their age. I like this understated look and am a mere 39! You can be stylish whatever your age...the trick is to try to be polished without looking like you tried too hard and converse sneakers add to this sort of nonchalant style....whatever!

Navy are good. They go with everything and you can wear then if over 30, as long as it is not with anything Boden, or Laura Ashley dresses.

Superbunny what price are they in the US? I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and need to know how big a bag to take

Swedes (sorry quick hijack but I will comment on thread in a mo) - a while ago you started a thread about a silver bag and you ended up ordering the boden silver satchel - what is it i like ? Did you keep it ? I am thinking of getting one in the sale !

On converse - I have been having this dilemma recently. I wore converse aged 14 and whilst I like the look of them now I worry because i wore them when I was 14. However, have decided to go for it and get some silver ones (Hmm swedes seems we both have a thing for silver !). So, hopefully ok on the over 30s.

I love my Converse.

Will be forever in debt to anyone who can find an online retailer who has these in stock in a size 6!

yes, all the school mums here wear them.

I don't think any 20somethings do though.

Superbunny - bring back as many as you can carry, especially the laceless which are a pain to get hold of here. I finally wore out my apple green laceless that I bought in the US three years ago and it took weeks to hunt down a new pair of laceless in the UK. There is much less choice here.
I am 45 btw and will never give up my Converse.

I am 34 and have 3 pairs of low converse shoes (might get more if we move to bigger house!). Red, purple and double pink ones.

I'm liking these PF Flyers, why have I never heard of them before? I can see some expense coming my way.

Wow, they're really expensive in the UK. Maybe I should buy two pairs to bring back. Or Three
