Catmandu - what is the name of these clarks patent boots of which you rave about?

Great Plains good for wool trousers

Good price and they are lined too.

Not sure about length though, I am 5'6" and they fit pretty well- may have some extra in the hem?

true

which is why netaporter is good, despite being exxy ... try it on, send it back for free. You lose a tenner, which is what I would spend going to the shops anyway .. travel/ parking. coffee, lunch etc - at least £10!

so maybe look here - some of the ones down the bottom of the page are discounted quite nicely?

Thanks Cake
Trouble with stuff like that is that a picture tells you nothing does it? You have to actually get them on/.

It's always the way that when you decide you are going to buy clothes you can't find a thing. YOu only see 601 things when you are skint

I like flannel too.
In fact I love flannel.
Am on quest for smart flannel trousers. Laura Ashley have some very nice ones but too short for me. Also some very nice skirts.

My winter coat quest continues.

hang on I'll try to find a link to the Camper ones, get your opinion

£40 brilliant!

Report
GobbledigookisThrifty · 04/10/2008 18:15

Worth £200 if you've worn them for 4 winters I reckon

My £40 John Lewis ones must be on their third winter now and they are in brill condition (except hte heel hence I had them done)

on the topic of boots, I am STILL looking for a pair of black ones.

Tried on the Gap biker boots today but didn't rate them, no opening so too difficult to get on and off - I feel the need for speed. Also not keen on the length on me.

Best I've seen are Camper £150 but more than I wanted to spend ... but a helluva lot cheaper than some of the ones I saw in Richmond today - well over £200, most of them (Jigsaw, Hobbs, Russell & Bromley)

But today am wearing brown knee-length, fur-lined, buckles up the side boots from Kurt Geiger, think they were around £200 but got them in 2005 and have worn every year since so quite worth it?

I don't know. Waffling now.
