Anyone have a parlux hairdryer ?

Mercedesbenz2022 · 05/08/2022 08:58

I used my friends parlux hairdryer and I really liked it , but as I only used it once I don’t know if I was having ‘ a good hair day ‘ anyway.
Does anyone have one ? And would you recommend ?

( not interested in a dyson , out of budget )

thanks in advance

Using my hair dryer and straighteners (unless going to an event) is one of the first things I've cancelled now I'm out of my fixed rate electricity contract.

Thanks for everyone s replies
! I will get the compact too , I have fine hair but lots of it so after hearing about the Dysons excessive power ( which is out of budget anyway ) I think the parlex is the one , in racing car red

Love mine. I brought it when my old cheap hairdryer broke and I did a lot of research. I tried a GHD one and a friend’s Dyson but just liked the Parlux best. It’s not that heavy, dries fast and gets excellent volume into my thin frizzy hair, making it much smoother.

Yes I asked for it for Christmas 2011 after a recommendation on here and it’s still going strong. Before that I always had cheaper hairdryers from Boots etc that lasted about 3 years. It dries my thick hair quickly, I’d like to try a Dyson though.

Yes, I have had one for around 8 years, no problems I love it.
I relented at Christmas and got a dyson, it was awful for my hair and gave it to my daughter in law.
love my parlux.

My hairdresser uses them and got me one from their supplier because they're excellent.

I've got one, fell for all the colours.
Mine is solid, reliable, gets the job done and I miss it when I'm away. It is on the heavy side. I've had mine about 9 or 9 years.

Love mine and it’s lasted significantly longer than the dyson I had. It’s also significantly better than the ghd ones at my gym.

Dries a lot quicker and less frizz. I’ve managed to almost completely ditch the straighteners.

Yes I have one, it’s fab. I’ve heard good things about the dyson too but parlus is way cheaper plus I have very fine, flyaway hair so needed a gentle hairdryer.

I used a Dyson when I was away for a week and it was rubbish in comparison to my Parlux .

I have a Parlux Alyon. I really like it- it’s significantly lighter, quieter and faster than my old Babyliss, and when you’ve got long, thick hair everything makes a difference.

I've had mine for about 6 years. It's awesome. Dries my hair quickly and easily, v powerful, long cord and seems indestructible.

I have the Compact 3500 and it is incredible. My hairdresser uses a combo of the GHD and Parlux but recommended I get the Parlux. I have extremely thick, very curly and long hair which I blow dry either straight or into loose waves. My hair is damaged by bleach, but this hair dryer gives a finish that belies that.
I bought it for a milestone birthday for a friend who loves it too, she has different hair from mine. The longer power lead is one of the extra bits I love about too, but the power is the best, I’ve halved my blow dry time.

I have one, I love it. I much prefer it to the dyson which I find blasts all the body out of my hair.

My Parlux was an MN purchase. It’s ok. Not amazing. I guess better than my cheapo £10 Boots one. It’s dries hair quicker and heat isn’t as intense.

I have a very light one and love it. Had it for 10 years and would replace with same without question when it eventually dies. Used everyday, sometimes twice.

I have one. It’s fine, good, not life-changing because I have difficult hair that takes a long time to dry and requires more than just a good hairdryer to look alright, and my technique isn’t great. I think how a hairdryer works for you depends mostly on your hair rather than the dryer.

I loved mine. I had it for several years. I got rid of it because when I flicked the switch to turn it on, I could see blue sparks inside through the join in the handle! But as I say, it was years old by then, it lasted way longer than any other hairdryer I have had before, and it was very, very good.

I have a Dyson now that I was bought as a gift. I like it, but mostly because it's short barelled and weighted differently to other brands - it isn't any quicker than the Parlux. I definitely noticed how fast the Parlux was when I got it.

I'm not sure what I'll do when the Dyson goes to meet its maker. I would definitely consider a Parlux again, but I'd go for one of the lighter weight models.

I love mine. It's really lightweight and it dries my shoulder length hair in less than 3 minutes.

For those saying heavy , I have looked at their super light and quiet one I think it’s called compact 3500.
I have a faithful workhorse by Nicky Clarke and it’s been great , but it’s heavy and sounds like a jet taking off , so was looking for something else with power but lighter

thanks for all your replies , I am reading them all , if not replying individually

Me. Dries hair really quick but still have frizz. But I suspect that may be a combination of my hair and technique and lack of products.

Same. But I don't know if it's just because I have crap hair and never got the hang of the hairdresser drying technique.

Yes I have one.

Probably had it 10 years - still going strong.
