Just had a Brazilian blow dry and been told to use sulphate free shampoo, can anyone recommend one?

I used the body shop rainforest shampoo & conditioner. I usually wash my hair twice a week but during the transition period it was 4 times a week. Now I wash my hair twice a week and it's super shiny, soft and my curls have really come out. I use the curly hair method and my hair has improved drastically.

I already wash hair everyday as it's so greasy, it looked greasy straight after I washed it.

Which SLS free shampoo have you been using, disordered? Used mine for 2 weeks + and felt less clean.

Resist the temptation to rewash your hair in normal shampoo straight away. The SLS free shampoo takes a little while to kick in as it doesn't have the nasties which strip your hair. It took me 2 weeks and a little more frequent washing to establish the new shampoo. Have patience.

Yes my hair still felt dirty after I have washed it with the shampoo I bought!

I bought Aveda products as well.
Good at first but my hair seemed less clean. If you're using those, is it possible to alternate with another shampoo. L'Oréal Pure Resource Ceramide is excellent for cleaning scalp/ hair. I have two very difficult hair/ scalp conditions and it's the only one that seems to work properly. However, I would use another shampoo as well inbetween.

Tempted to re wash it with my normal shampoo to see if that gets rid of the smell!

Avalon Organics shampoo from Waitrose. £5.99 a bottle.

I got this one: <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/Brazilian-Straightening-Keratin-Treatment-100ml/dp/B00YUNTA9U/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=drugstore&ie=UTF8&qid=1501326095&sr=1-2&keywords=cocochoco%20brazilian%20keratin%20treatment&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">Cocochoco for £24.99. It only used half the tub so I will get another application for that money.

The only downside is you can't wash your hair for three days so I planned it for days when I wasn't doing anything as by Day 2.5 it looked pretty lank. I've asked the mobile hairdresser to keep a look out at the hair supplies wholesale place for a product that doesn't need to stay on so long. I know some of them only need 24 hours.

And yes, it definitely worked, I'm really pleased with it!

@flimp did you like the results? Also how much was the kit? I could try that and get my daughter to do it.

I've been hunting for months on groupon, there's not many places that do it in the north east.

Vichy Dercos ultra soothing (on offer on Escentual at the mo - I've just bought 5...) - the only sulphate free one that I've found still 'foams' like shampoo with sulphates so doesn't build up and has dry / oily versions.

If you search on groupon, often salons do offers for the Brazilian Blow Dry treatments. But also, I bought one on Amazon and had a mobile hairdresser do it for me so it only cost me about 40 quid this time.

Sorry to butt in, I'm evangelical about BBD!

Hello,
Can I ask how much you
Paid for it? They're 150 were I live. I've been pondering over it for years, but thinking of just going for it?

And can you tell if it's worked x

I'm using the herbal essences ones. There a few flavours and they are 'free from'.
And in almost all stores.

I use Label M Organic shampoo and conditioner, it comes in Lemongrass or Orange.
The difference in my hair is amazing since I started it, really recommend both. I alternate between the two every time I buy more.

watch out for the silicones, there are lists out there and they really damage hair. They are in MOST conditioners.

I've been wondering about this. I had some from Tesco and it's not been great - really drying (even using the low 'poo method). I'll definitely look for one of the ones recommended here.

I use a Toni and Guy one, bought from the salon (they don't own the version that's sold in Boots etc anymore)

I'm curious to know why a previous posters message was deleted! What could have been so controversial on a Style & Beauty thread?!
