what do you think of this sandals?

I need opinions please. I am short but need comfortable footwear so usually go for flatform wedges of around 6cm height. They usually tend to be ugly shoes if I'm honest but I need the height to make my overall outfit look nice. It can sometimes be difficult to pull off a csual look when I'm wearing high wedges but I was thinking these might work: www.asos.com/asos/asos-this-is-it-leather-lace-up-flatforms/prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=5295048&clr=Nudesnake&searchterm=flatform+sandals&pgesize=36&pge=0&totalstyles=42&gridsize=3&gridrow=4&gridcolumn=2

I'd love some opinions and also, do you thin they will make my feet relly sweaty as the sole looks plasticky?

I'm lost. I don't think the second pair are fugly at all OP. Birkenstocks are fugly. Those thick leather Mary Janes that only pre-schoolers should wear are fugly. Those rose coloured chunky sandals are really gorgeous to my eyes.

The gold second ones are lovely. I'd happily wear them with dresses or trousers. The navy blue Gabor ones are grannyish. You'll rip your ankles wearing clogs and they take ages to break in - past experience.

Those wouldn't be for me Dowser but they look pretty on...

I wasn't expecting to like them from your description but actually I did like the first ones. I think the pattern on the leather(?) was interesting enough that you'd notice that first and not what the soles were like.

I didn't like the second ones in that colour (I'm not keen on gold in general) but really liked the look of the footbeds and thought they would probably be very comfortable. I'd wear them in white or silver.

Does nobody wear anything like this. I love them. Really comfortable.

I find Lottas true to size. Width is generous.

I like them, but the string might cut into your leg and snap at some point so I wouldn't buy them for those reasons.

I have decided to go for the second pair because even though they're fugly, I do actually genuinely like them. I don't really like the first pair I linked to, I just felt the shape was right for me, but I was concerned about the plastic wedge being sweaty. Also, I don't really suit black shoes against my pale skin.

Now I'm willing to try clogs again. I think that the gold clogs I had in the past were not by Lotts, I think they might have been these ones: www.amazon.com/AM-Toffeln-Wooden-Swedish-Metallic-Silver/dp/B00AWNVJ4G?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

They were lovely but seriously, it was awful how bad they make my feel smell and my feet don't usually smell.

Does anyone know if Lotta cloggs are true to size? I am a UK size 5 but usually get away with a 4 with sandals, but I do have wide feet.

Anything with a lace like that will cut your ankles to ribbons. Honestly, I had a similar pair, loved them but wore them for a day out, and the pain! Love the ravel ones though.

I like tethers ones too! Love Lottas also. Anothe I am the same age as you. I am quite tall and slim but feel chunky shoes/sandals are in proportion to my feet and legs. My feet can't cope with delicate sandals, they need something more substantial.

I have had to come to terms with the fact that I have taste for what you lot call fugly shoes. Thing is, if I was taller and thinner, I probably wouldn't like those shoes either.

You young things and your clumpy sandals! I am 52 btw and like my feet comfy. My DD's who are 17 and 22 like my sandals so i am happy with my choices. Just as well we don't all like the same things. Grin

OP the second pair's gorgeous - the rose wedges. I want some now I've seen them.

I'm 44 cashew. Those sandals you have linked to are not to my taste at all, I don't think they look casual and I think they only go with dresses or skirts and, yes, I also think they're ageing.

Lotta from Stockholm are lovely, but I remember having pair of gold cloggs from them 3 years ago and they made my feet smell so bad I had to throw them away.

I also wouldn't wear either. I don't mind clumpyish sandals at all, but those are a step too far for me. Of the two, much prefer the second as don't like the current - and hopefully soon to pass - fashion for ties, or think they are easy to wear.
