Fat woman in bikini

I think Im going to get one.

Years ago, I went on holiday by myself to Corfu. I was slim but didn't think it. Anyway, the beach was full of German women, big women. All in bikinis.

Did they care that they had belly fat? Did they care their boobs were skimming their knees? Did they fuck?

Did they have fun? Oh yes.

Did I have fun in my sports cut one piece? Nope.

So I plan to be a German woman this summer. Yes I'm fat (size 16) but I plan to wear a two piece.

Anyone have any ideas? I've seen a big knicker one in Next.

Am reminded of the poster recently.

How to get a bikini body

  1. Have a body
  2. Put on bikini

Fat women in bikinis look better than fat women in swim suits
I hate swimsuits they are roasting
Also very often fat women look better in bikinis than skinny women

i am long and skinny but my arse is minus and I think that lots of fat women look better than me
i'd never wear a swimsuit unless actually swimming for exercise they should be banned for any other reason

can you imagine fat men wearing full swimsuits?
no
swimsuits for sun bathing should be banned

Just come back from France.

Saw women of all shapes, sizes and ages wearing bikinis.

No one gave a fig (leaf).

I am going to be wearing a bikini this summer on holiday. I've had 4 kids, and have so many stretchmarks that it looks like Great Western have run rail tracks round me... but ... who cares?

I do like little board shorts however ..Fatface do nice ones that match the bikini and make me feel decent. This has less to do with my stretched saggy belly, and more to do with losing some rather loose fitting bikini bottoms in a spectacular wave in Malta a few years ago Grin The wave literally washed them off my bum, they disappeared in the wave and my kids howled with laughter (bloody teens) before eventually coming to my aid with a towel!!!

I'm a 16 and gave birth three months ago. I'll be wearing a bikini. Swimsuits make me feel so old

I've become a little beach judgey. I've only seen one other fully grown woman in a bikini here in Clare (OK, it's a little friggin cold, but has been fab), she was rake thin.

I wore my swim suit yesterday because we went to the baths and I didn't want bits flying off if I went on the slides. What a faff. As soon as I got it on I needed the bloody loo. And, as I'd put all my clothes once it, I needed to undress.

So I'm sold on bikinis.

Some women have given me funny looks. But hopefully some other women have thought 'a fat woman in a bikini, I might try that too'

I am a size 16 (sadly edging closer to an 18 on my bottoms at the mo) and I wore a bikini every single day of my holiday last week because like you I looked around and realised that lots of other women were of similar or larger size with different slightly imperfect saggy bits here and there and I thought sod it.

I am on a tight budget but was very impressed with TU at Sainsburys range of bikinis. They seem to be cut just a little bit better for the slightly more rounded female form compared to Tesco, Asda etc. Dont even look at Primarni bikinis - my size 6 13yo has just bought a size 10 in there!!!

I find the Sainsburys bikinis are just a little more generous with the fabric - so I am not in middle aged boring frump stylee but alos not in nubile gymnast cut. The bottoms cover my 3x Csection overhang nicely and when new the Bandeau tops are actually very supportive (the support does die after a few machine washes) but at £14 for a full bikini I am happy. They do come with a strap which I use for wandering about but easy and quick to remove to avoid tan marks.

Another place I like is Peacocks. They do nice pretty stuff cut a little better (but non frump). They do an ace underwirded top in a few different fabrics that can tie around the neck and also around the back like a bandeau. I have had so many compliments.

I strongly suggest when bikini shopping that you take in 2 sizes of every top and bottoms (I am a 14/16 on top and take in 14 and 16 tops to try and a 16 on the bottom - I take in 16 and 18 bottoms) This gives you a chance to see what looks best and sits best on her hips/cover tum - avoids muffin top etc. Same with the boobage - no over spill/best support etc. Also take in styles you think OMG no way - you may be surprised. I was taking in wiast high bottoms thinking it best for my jelly belly but actually shocked myself when trying on something that came a little lower and realising it looked better.

You need to go and play bikinis in the shops!!! enjoy!

I am 5'2, 13st, size 16, i do exercise classes twice a week and long dog walks, cycling etc. I couldnt go for a run or run up the stairs without my leg and ankle hurting and puffing and panting or going bright red

So why does my leg hurt and i end up looking like a lobster ? Anyone? Wellllll its not be cause my leg is carring my lard arse about, its because i had a nasty accident and had to have lots of corrective surgery on my knee a few years back, and the puffing that will be down to me having asthma that i was diagnosed with when i was one.

I wear a Bravissimo bikini as i've found they are the best at controlling my big boobs (again not grown due to weight, always had them, 34G at 16 and a size 10). Not one person has ever said to me that i shouldnt be in a bikini due to my size, people are not that rude to people faces. They no doubt bitch and judge behind my back and online like this.

So OP all i can say is FAIR PLAYED TO YOU for doing what YOU wanted to do.

I wore a bikini in Germany last week - I am a size 16 and was far from the largest lady in a bikini by the pool.

I should also say that I eat a healthy diet and go to the gym three times a week. I am 5' 6" and the weight is evenly distributed - this is my normal size. Also, the thinnest lady by the pool was eating a McDonalds takeaway. People just come in all shapes and sizes. Some people are fat and unhealthy, some are thin and unhealthy. Some are also fat and healthy - it is possible.

OP - I'm really pleased you went ahead and just did it. I also saw women in Italy of all shapes and sizes in bikinis and this is what prompted me to cast off the one piece!

I did it.

I wore my bikini on Kilkee (Clare) beach today. It was great. I felt so....uninhibited. I enjoyed myself splashing in the waves with the kids instead of worrying about my belly in a swimsuit.

I looked at myself when I got home, all wobbly flesh and stretch marks. But hey, I didn't have to look at myself on the beach. Besides, I think people would have been blinded by my white flesh legs and not been able to focus on my size.

There were fatter women, there were thinner women. It was no big deal. DH did give me a funny look.

Bear -could you be any more patronising???

I am a size 20. Could probably beat you up the stairs, walk and cycle miles. I can't run but then I couldn't when I was a size ten.

I don't fool myself that my weight is optimal healthwise and am on a healthy eating kick. Your post highlights that what is fit for one person is not for another. I am very fit. Not very fit for my size. I am very fit. My dp seems to think im pretty sexy too

Bear, this is known as "concern trolling". I'm big too, and I can promise you that people being earnestly concerned about my weight, for my own good, and telling me so, has never helped me lose a pound. Ever. If it did, we'd all be thin as rakes. I know you clearly mean well, and are concerned for your sister, but it honestly doesn't help.

(Me, I wish I felt good enough for a bikini, and I salute those of my fellow Women Of Size who wear them. You are doing it for all of us! Go and be fabulous!)

Life I am glad you feel sexy healthy and attractive. Long may it continue. I don't think you are not entitled to be happy with your size, and I am pleased for you that you are. But it cannot be denied that what is average size has increased over the past few years, and as a result people have a skewed view of what is normal (safe) size. You are at a dangerous size, and saying you are 'big' disguises it.

My sister is size 20, aged 56 and was very ill recently. They were really concerned about operating because of the increased risks posed by her weight. She nearly died as a result. I am 55 and can, and do, run upstairs: she can only walk really slowly even on the flat, and has a variety of health conditions due to her weight. I really hope that doesn't happen to you but the chances are high that it will if you stay the size that you are.my sister & I used to be same weight and had the same level of activity, when we were young. As soon as she left home and could eat what she wanted she put on weight and it's got worse over the years. Her weight is the elephant in the room: never mentioned but everyone knows it is an issue.

As others have said, wear whatever catches your fancy. But, honestly, is it safe to wear a bikini in Clare? Will you not freeze?

Whenever I see the media taking the piss out of a woman for something she's wearing, I always think of that Miranda Hart sketch:

Miranda: Hello - do you like that outfit you're wearing?
Woman: Yes.
Miranda: Are you comfortable in it?
Woman: Yes.
Miranda: Do you care that others may not like it?
Woman: Not really, no.
Miranda: Great, wear that then.

What is it about bikinis? I wore one in my early twenties, which slipped and exposed a boob -all I'd done was dive in (badly), so I haven't worn one since. I find them faintly creepy in a way - exposing all flesh except the naughty bits.

Men aren't concerned about exposing their stomachs on a beach so I don't see why women should be either, but I find full swim suits more flattering on almost all women, me included.

I am nearly six foot and a size 20/22 and I wear a bikini on holiday abroad. So much more comfortable and I don't give a fuck quite frankly. My stomach is mess of wobble, stretch marks and surgery scars but so what?

I wear big pantsa nd an underwired top.

Feel free to go all German with the bikini, OP - you sound absolutely brilliant. Also feel free to keep or remove as much or as little body hair as you bloody well feel like.
