Can someone recommend a not-too-expensive fresh non-floral scent?

this place do some really lovely fragrances. I always think of them as a more purse friendly Jo Malone style thing, in that they smell 'of' whatever they are called, if that makes sense, rather than being some randomly named perfume.

I realise that linking to a website it a bit pointless if you can't actually smell the stuff, but the website lists stockists, so if there are any in your area you might want to go along and have a sniff.

Jo Malone French Lime Blossom is citrussy and fresh but also has a beautiful creaminess to it.

Lyn Harris le cologne - from her diffusion range at m&s. It's actually for men, but don't let that put you off - very citrussy and smells amazing. Only £25 so the smell doesn't last too long, but lovely and fresh for summer. I actually had it on yesterday and the man working at the post office asked what I was wearing and said how nice it was. Made my day Grin although I'm slightly concerned I had too much on as he was behind a glass screen at the time Blush

I have the clarins eau de jardins. I got a gift set and it came with the body lotion. I use just the body lotion sometimes without the spray and it lasts. It is quite floral though. Its the one I use each day.

Oooh grassy and citrusy, then definitely Guerlain Acqua Allegoria in Herba Fresca. Gorgeous, unlike anything else I've smelt before and not expensive either!

L'occitane lemon verbena or Roger et Gallet Citron.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca is gorgeous. It smells like a wet Summer's day. About £38, but £31 at the moment at www.escentual.com.

Oh! Sorry. It was Roger and Gallet "Osmanthus". Not Fragonard. Oops.

Clarins Eau Dynamisante - fresh, citrusy, quite like O de Lancôme but lighter & more wearable for every day.

Roger et Gallet Thé Vert - fresh & light.

Clarins Happy is very sweet - bit sickly.

agree with all the Clarins recommendations - the one that is the most grassy/citrus is Eau-Dynamisante and for a fresh, clean laundry type scent go for Eau Resourrsante

the Clarins jardin and sunshine onse are lovely too but perhaps veering towards floral too much for you? (although still very fresh)

Estee Lauder white linen breeze but £££££, for a less costly end of the spectrum you could try body shop satsuma spray body mist.

If you have a large M and S near to you, have a look in their beauty section. they are having a sale on some of their new lines. Comptoir de Sud and Monotherm (I think). There were a lot of fresh, citrussy scents.

My favourite wasn't in the sale: Fragonard Osthmanthus. Citrussy - but a bit floral too. So perhaps not for you. But it was just delicious!! Like lemon tree blossom in the early hours of a hot day.
