Summer school run shoes

Some days I walk over 5 miles for school/preschool runs, can anyone recommend some good quality but not hideous shoes for summer that will be more comfy than pumps or sandals?

I like the Merrell and Keen ones, actually, but they are quite expensive. Saw some Shechers ones this morning that looked ok but were a bit drab.

Anything by Merrell or Keen do you?
I think if I was walking that distance I'd want a bit of a sole

try here

Did you know that Birkenstocks are made with both regular and narrow width fitting?
I now own 3 pairs of Mayari, and they are the most comfortable things ever.

I live abroad and wear Decathlon ballet pumps a lot. I think there are Decathlons in the UK?

The hush puppies are amazingly comfy too. I've had them before but now I'm a clarks convert. I have 3 new pairs of the idyllics, pink, gold and black to replace my done in pairs! I love them!

I'm going to get the Hush Puppies ones, I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I have these and I love them. They have a crepe sole which should be hard wearing, they have that raised sole, driving thing going on at the back so they shouldn't be trashed by driving like my other pumps were, and they're really comfy.

I imagine they aren't to everyone's taste, but I think I look chic in them (I hope). I wouldn't wear them with a dress, but I could walk 5 miles in my havaianas so that would be my dress option

£39 is a good price for the quality of the leather - they were a bit small though so I went for a 5.5 rather than my usual 5.

Second Clarks idyllics, I get new ones each year. I'm going for light blue I reckon!

These are super comfortable. I don't like fit flops for longer walks as you have to 'grip' your toes to keep them on and it hurts after a long walk (me anyway). I can't stand birkis because of that. Or any flip flop type sandals.

If you don't mind the fact that they are hotters, I have a pair of these and they are fab fab super comfortable. //www.hottershoes.com/en/SPRING-2013/Signature/87304_jewel-shoes

The skechers go walk ones have excellent reviews so I might check them out, thanks!

What about those sketchers go walk that are advertised at the moment?

If you're doing all that walking every day the best thing for your feet would be a pair of supportive trainers.

Not very fashionable, sorry, but brilliant for your feet and it'll make the walking easier!

The idyllic pumps look ok, not keen on metallic but I can see black too. Birkies I love the look off but I always have issues in shoes falling off my feet, which is really annoying, and I can't imagine these would stay on! Toms seem to have thin soles like connies which don't really stand up to the 5 miles either.
