Make remover for HIGHLY sensitive skin.

Anyone have any recommendations? I've given up wearing make up as i get ezcema under my eyes after a couple of days. I think it's removing make up. I've tried several brands and just very mild soap and water. It's driving me nuts, i've even had to stop using the Boots Protect & Perfect serum as that started to react too and am now on a stupidly expensive moisturiser.

Anyone with a trusted product or recommendation?

Have you tried baby oil? Soak a cotton pad in it, hold over your eye to loosen the make up, wipe, repeat. Also aqueous cream. Definitely need to shop around for soft cotton pads. Superdrug ones are really rough.

Simple didn't work for me. I'm intrigued by the olive oil idea too.. I think that the cotton wool i use may be too abrasive too. Now just have to find Eve Rom - is it a dept store or Boots job?

As someone else mentioned, Dermalogica's UltraCalming range is really good for highly sensitive skin. It can even be used on skin which is so sensitive it is even irritated by just plain water. If you have eczema though I think you'll need to be very careful about what you try. If you have a Dermalogica salon near you, you should be able to go along for a free face mapping analysis and the therapist will be able to advise you on the best products to use. They're usually very good and won't try and sell you Dermalogica if it's not right for your skin.

Milk. Semi skimmed or full fat. And no, I'm not taking the p*ss. Apply to cotton wool and it's brill for removing most eye makeup.

I also use honey, olive oil and salt as a face scrub. If skin is very sensitive and/or dry then probably ground almonds or soft sugar would be better.

Yes, I am partly a hippy, but also cheapskate and disorganised and I am more likely to have food products in the house than face wash and eye make up remover!

Simple is quite a good one
it has all natural ingredients in it and it is very cheap
you can gett all sorts of things like wipes, body washes ect

I've got very reactive skin, even Liz Earle managed to irritate it. The only thing that seems to be working at the moment is La Roche Posay physiological range which was recommended up thread.

I hope it works for you DontTell. It is pricey but it lasts for ages. I've been using it for it years and have gotten lazy with it - I don't bother with the muslin cloth, I just rub the cleanser over may face and then rinse off with warm water. If you use the cloth (you're supposed to!) be very gentle when using it over your eyes, it is a tiny bit abrasive.

re Liz Earle - she had eczema herself, think that's why she got into developing her range in the first place. Fabulous skincare range, eczema or no. I went through a phase of getting eczema round my eyes, and a pharmacist in Boots recommended simple eye ointment. Comes in a tiny tube from the pharmacy counter, lasts for ages tho and worked a treat.

Don'tTell yep I wear make-up every day on my eyes. Just concealer on my eyelids and under-eyes (I've got bad dark circles), eye pencil and mascara and my skin is fine. I can't wear eyeshadow daily though, that would give me eczema! Every now and again is fine though.

I have really sensitive skin, but somehow cheap and cheerful Oil of Olaz eye make up remover (cream in a tube, cheapo) is great for me.

Usually i use REN products for sensitive skin, but this is the only stuff I put anywhere near my eyes.

I have Eczema around my eyes too, and found that even Liz Earle was too harsh for my skin, I started using Trilogy's very gentle cleansing cream and it has been brilliant for me. I remove it using the hot cloth method and my skin is lovely and soft and I rarely get an eczema breakout now.

I use Waitrose baby bottom stuff as a make up remover too. Excellent at removing waterproof mascara! Only about £2.50 too.

Waitrose baby bottom butter for me....use like eve lom with a muslin - which is brilliant for m but pricy. Baby bottom butter is a couple of quid. I react badly to Liz Earle

Have you tried the Trilogy Very Gentle range? They do a cream cleanser, calming fluid and moisturiser. I have sensitive skin which became extremely sensitive when I was pregnant and found Trilogy brilliant. Not particularly cheap, though.

I use organic type stuff because of previous similar problems. At the moment i use Madara cleanser: the one I have is a foaming facial wash, which removes all makeup no problems and feels nice and clean. Reasonably priced too: lasts ages.

Look at the La Roche Posay range. Lots of different types of cleansers for every type of skin.

I was having problems with dry sensitive skin and used the Micellar Solution in the Physiological range and found it very gentle.

I've never got on with wipes of any variety either. And I wasn't impressed by Eve Lom. I was given a sample of the cleanser and moisturiser and didn't think it was worth the money at all.

It's only since discovering Dermalogica that I can wear eye make-up daily.

Seymore - can you now wear make up daily? I only ask a wipes are the same as using an acid soaked brillo pad for me and the P&P also 'burnt' me.
