I'm looking or a new watch, don't mind spending as I think it's one of those 'Key' wardrobe items. Well that's my justification anyway..... I would really love something elegant with a black strap but no clue where to begin! Tia!

I wear a rado with a plain face and black titanium strap. I love it because its so smooth and thin. It weighs so little I can hardly feel it.

Ninedragons....."old crap" !

Has he not seen the adverts..... The generational thing. Lucky you!

DH has just given me a Rolex oyster perpetual date in the large size. I love it as I have quite slim wrists and it looks great for daytime and evening. Definitely the best present i have ever received! I'm married to a watch snob though who's just added a Palleri to his collection.

A Skagen. I have a collection but tend to keep the same one on for weeks since I discovered I can keep them on in the shower.

I wear my grandfather's Jaeger-Le Coulture (sp?) from the 40s. Was offered to my brother but he doesn't like "old crap" so lucky me Grin. I also have a 1920s Tiffany & Co sterling silver tank watch I got on eBay for $60 or so. It was sold as not working so I took a gamble on being able to have it fixed, which luckily it was. Wind-up watches are not everyone's cup of tea but I think they're worth it for the style statement. I work in an office full of total watch snobs and get admiring comments.

DH has a Longines and it's very versatile - goes with everything.

This Skagen one with round face and mesh strap. Very plain.

I sometimes wear DD1's old Fossil with a pink leather strap and narrow rectangular mother of pearl face.

I love Longine OP. Very elegant and understated.

I have a Raymond Weil like this except with a dark blue face. It is a great every day kind of a watch, very thin and refinded despite having a good sized, easily readable face. I love it but I have a hankering after a Tag one day.

My sister has a Longines like this but with a navy face, not black. It's gorgeous, but it has that self winding mechanism thingy and she finds that it sometimes loses time a bit and slows down. A few of her friends at work have them (different styles) and they find the same thing. It looks amazing, but you want more than that in a watch really Grin

I'm currently wearing a Swiss Railway watch I pinched off my dad. Black and white and very retro.

I'm quite tough on watches; they normally fall apart/stop working/lose all their plating/end up with broken glass, so I change fairly regularly.

I wear fairly cheap watches as I tend to wreck them - my current is a Casio Baby G. Seems pretty tough so far :)

A Swiss Army watch (but its quite lady-like). Silver with a tan leader strap. I picked it because it had numbers on it. I can't be doing with Roman Numerals or little blobs. I love it.

Omega constellation. Bargain the shop down, they WILL give you a discount.
Plain but worth every penny. It has been through the wash THREE times - each and every time I die inside and pray that our insurance is up to date - and survived.

If only our passports were as robust.

I have a gorgeous stainless steel Tiffany watch in a design which they no longer sell. Cost around £2.5K and was the one and only Valentine's gift I have ever received from DH......he was being ultra sweet to me because he wanted to buy himself a rather beautiful car........I didn't complain :o I wear it every day and it looks great for daytime or evening. I like that the fact that it is worn loose - hate anything tight around my wrist.

DH has a Mondaine watch which his mother bought for him. Not sure if this would work for you but it does have a leather strap?

My Rolex - It's never left my wrist since 1998 and looks as beautiful today as it did then.

The strap is very thin, but I wear it baggy on my wrist. Rather than the big thick strapped watches that are usually worn baggy.

Incidentally my DHs Omega Seamaster was an engagement present from me and I paid about £900 for it... The exact same watch is now £1410. I asked the Omega shop man if it was exactly the same watch and he said it was.

I flip between my Tag Heuer bought by my parents for my 18th (16 years go). And my Omega Seamaster. I love watches!
I wouldn't spend mega bucks on a watch with a leather strap but if that's what you want, Omega have a lovely 2012 Olympic watch with a black strap but it's about £3500!
