You enter in depature/destination. Choose ticket - single or return. When you go to pay you have the option of printing at local station. I've used it twice. All you do at the local station ticket machine is press the prepaid collection option, insert the card you paid with (you need to put card details in even if it is £zero) and the tickets print out. Really simple system.

thereinmadnesslies · 17/08/2012 11:20

bisjolympics - doesn't seem to work if the journey is entirely by tube :(

SoupDragon · 17/08/2012 11:43

Not that simple given it can't find a fare from my local train station to Stratford.

bisjolympics · 17/08/2012 11:46

It does work for tube. I just entered Bond St to Stratford and it gave me a price of £0.

Soup which station are you travelling from.

bisjolympics · 17/08/2012 11:48

Sorry, just tried the tube one and it wouldn't complete. However when I tried from West Drayton (which is western outer edge it would and was free). I assume the tube station would be able to issue a free ticket if you can't get it on the rail site, or maybe you can buy tickets from the tfl website?

thereinmadnesslies · 17/08/2012 11:48

weird it didn't work for Epping to Stratford

bisjolympics · 17/08/2012 11:50

I'd call the London 2012 phone number here

TunaPastaBake · 17/08/2012 12:19

Right just done it - our departing station is just outside the Games travel area -

so 'Departing Station' to Stratford (Games) return - for one adult and two children is the Grand Total of £7.60 !

Will collect the tickets later .

Thank you bisjolmypics ! Thanks

A lot of Olympic tickets come with a free Travelcard - I went to the closing ceremony and we have a family set of Olympic Park tickets for the 1st September. Transport was free for both (and the Javelin is very swish). And there's no ticket checking at either St Pancras or Stratford.

Trying to get Orbit tickets for the 1st but I suspect they're all gone. Not too fussed about a sport as the DTs are only 5 and don't have the attention span - we lasted about an hour in a Synchronised Swimming thing in April during the "London Prepares" series. But I do fancy a look at the park.

TunaPastaBake · 17/08/2012 16:46

These do come with a free travelcard but because we opted for the print at home event ticket option we had to go round the houses to get our free travel card.

But because we live just out of the Games Travel Card Area we had to pay the differnce .

Still got the train fair at a very discounted rate for peak time travel into London.

bisjolympics · 17/08/2012 16:50

The two times I've been to the Park the only time I had my travelcard checked was on leaving my local station. There are simply too many people arriving/leaving Stratford to have the ticket barriers in use there.

caramelwaffle · 17/08/2012 18:03

A whole batch have just gone on sale. The Olympic Park ones have sold out in minutes. There are still some coming up for the London venues i.e. Excel

GetDownNesbitt · 17/08/2012 18:08

Jesus fucking Christ. I leave the website for one second...

mummynoseynora · 17/08/2012 18:16

I was racing for those tickets and didn't get bloody one Angry

GetDownNesbitt · 17/08/2012 18:19

Tell you what, I will alert you all when I stop trying and actually get on with my life, and THAT is when the tickets will drop. Honest. Bollocks to the Twitter feed - I can predict when they will be on.

caramelwaffle · 17/08/2012 18:20

London venues Sold bloomin out!

bisjolympics · 17/08/2012 18:34

They will be releasing 100,000 tickets during the course of the games and of course there may be corporate returns, although probably not as many as there were for the Olympics.

TheSkiingGardener · 17/08/2012 19:15

I was on there the minute the twitter alerts went, not a sodding thing. I think there was hardly anything there to be honest.

lemonpie7 · 17/08/2012 21:53

I'm really pleased forthose of you that have managed to get tickets, and best wishes to those still trying.

noelstudios · 17/08/2012 22:04

Sorry, we got ours back in October last year!

Really glad that the mass public have cottoned on to how brilliant the Paralympics are! Proud that London will be hosting the first sell-out Paralympics.

EightiesChick · 17/08/2012 22:09

Gah! I can't believe they started releasing them at 6-7pm. Have they no thought for those of us who are getting kids to bed and won't get back on MN or a Wine the internet till later? No consideration. [huffy emoticon]

So there will be some more to come? [hopeful] Although the later they come out, the less likely I can go as travel will become more expensive and taking leave more difficult. Gah.

bisjolympics · 17/08/2012 22:15

They did the same with the Olympics. No use for those of us who work and are commuting home at that time. I was very lucky to bag some tickets on a Saturday at 6.30pm.

debivamp · 17/08/2012 22:15

Got ours in July. Had the pick of tickets then and got all the 100m finals - cant wait.

EightiesChick · 17/08/2012 22:21

Lucky you debivamp!

bis - I'd rather they released them mid afternoon. Would at least give those of us at work but secretly surfing a chance.

Galena · 17/08/2012 23:13

Got ours back in October too... Equestrian, swimming and athletics...
Can't wait!
