Big Toe Blister!!

For the last week I have been struggling to put my full weight on my right big toe.
I differ dreadfully with my feet so take good care of them but an area of hard skin had built up at the base of my big toe.

I have been soaking my foot, using a pumice etc even though it was very sore.
I put Heel balm on it too.

This morning I woke up to this little beauty!

I will put a plaster on it later as I am going out for lunch.
Half hoping it will burst soon and start healing

It's not covid toe is it? Just mentioning in case you have any other symptoms!

Haha, it definitely isn’t covid toe! As a foot specialist my best advice to you would be to purchase some Compeed blister plasters, no other brand. These are the best. Please don’t agitate it, you will make it more sore. This will do the trick.

Phew I'm glad it isn't! Hope it feels better soon OP.

Friends suggested Covid Foot but I know someone with it and it does look like this.
I have Long Covid so nothing is impossible

I bought the Compeed blister plasters and am going to apply when I have had a Bath.
It's not painful today as it is free of the hard skin and my shoes don't rub it.

However while I have your attention....😉

I have had a dodgy, extremely painful ankle for nearly 3 years. It was intermittently painful and swollen before then but had been constantly swollen for 3 years.

I was treated for cellulitis at first, they thought psoriasis had become infected but after several courses of antibiotics there was no improvement.
Then another doctor said arthritis, I have osteoarthritis all over my body but nowhere else swells up like this.
At night it is unbearable, wakes me up and keeps me awake for several hours.
I take Naproxen, dihydocodeine and paracetemol, nothing touches the pain, I often cry through the night.
It's present all the time, but the nights are the hardest to cope with.
I wear an ankle support but don't know if it is effective really. The swelling was worse on my inner ankle but has moved to the outer ankle.

The GPS have basically shrugged their shoulders and said it is what it is. I can't complain because they have supported me through Covid and Long Covid but I don't know if I can go on with this level of pain.

I attach some pictures, they aren't pretty and I do apologise for leaping on your expertise!
I will to pay to see someone if necessary.

Thank you
Earthy

Poor you, I am sorry to hear about both the long covid and the ankle problem. I really hope you get some relief.

I'd suggest pushing for a referral, just shrugging their shoulders isn't an adequate response from your GPs.
