We’re back to school and the end of day/homework meltdowns have started again. Last night started as soon as she got in the car from the bus and finally ended at 11pm.
I got triggered and ended up so angry and shouting at her. Obviously not helpful and contributed to how long it went on for.
What I’m hoping for from you lovely people are your top tips for keeping yourself calm in order to help your melting down teen.
DD is nearly 14 and just started year 9. She’s been accepted as needing an ADHD assessment but the local provider is only currently seeing children who are looked after/referred by CAHMS/those under the youth offending team. She’s also been referred for autism and I’m trying to find out which black hole that disappeared into.
