ASD and gut biome?

Does anyone know about ASD and gut health? I’ve been trying to improve my gut health by cutting down on sugar and doing the 30 plants a week thing.

I’ve recently started to add in fermented foods and I do feel better but my ASD symptoms are worse than ever.

I’ve read that people with ASD can have a particular bacteria that is dominant but I don’t know if that is correct? I’m worried that by eating the fermented foods I’m encouraging the bacteria associated with ASD to flourish.

FWIW I’m only eating small amounts of it. Think sourdough bread once or twice a day and I’ve recently added in Kombucha.

I do have a fair bit going on apart from this so it just could be that I’m overwhelmed? 🤷‍♀️

As far as I know there is no bacteria associated with ASD. Who told you there was?

I believe the US are currently spending about $20m a year researching this according to Science magazine although the evidence isn’t concrete by any means.
