I've not been paying attention: making tax digital??

Sorry i havent been paying attention to this but separate filing for each income stream?

So I make & sell and I teach and i lecture under one name

& I teach, do, lecture and create under another

So ill have to do 2 returns instead of 1 - is that right? Not one for teaching, one for making and selling etc

What is the cheapest app I have to buy to make this happen (after 2028 I think?)

Does anyone know how this will work with landlords based abroad who are unable to file their tax returns online as the HMRC software won't let them?

I think there's an exemption for people who are non-resident - have a look.

@VanCleefArpels
Am I right in thinking it doesnt matter how much you earn PAYE, its only what you earn as a sole trader that affects if you need to go digital.
Was the webinar a live one or one that can be accessed anytime? Or does anyone know any useful guides free online.

It’s for sole traders and/or property income as long as gross income meets the threshold. From 2026 it’s £50k, then £30k then £20k
I got an invite to the webinar from HMRC as they know my income comes from rental property, It was live and the Q&A sidebar was very useful - if you are likely to come into the category for MTD I’d get in touch with HMRC as I found it helpful
