Thought I'd add myself to this thread - think there are only 3 babies left to be born over on the other thread.

Harry had an extremely bad morning - think he got over tired & then kicked off completely - it took me over 2 hours to calm him down - only for him to wake up half an hour later for his feed!! He practically fell asleep whilst feeding.

Wish the weather was nicer so I can go out & burn off some of this baby weight - and the biscuits I keep eating!!

Can't believe I put Anwyn's DOB wrong! We registered her birth today, I told her she's official but she didn't seem too impressed.

About bodies I'm in complete denial and still eating like I'm pregnant. I said to dh today, honey I'm sorry I've let myself go and he said, it's okay! I was like, OI! You're supposed to say you haven't let yourself go!! Grrr men.

Essie - no problem re the sling - at least you got something for it!

Debs - hang in there, it sounds like you are having a tough time but you're a strong person and you're doing great.

Isaidno - I am with you on the tummy front. First time round I popped back to my original shape within five days this time round I still have a perfect baby shaped belly that makes me look about 4 months pregnant and that is 3 weeks after birth I haven't put on too much weight as I am only 4 lb heavier than my pre pregnancy weight so I am hoping that it is just relaxed muscle. Trouble is I'm not allowed to start exercising until after my 6 week check as I had a postpartum haemorhage (sp) so am supposed to be taking it easy - like you can with a toddler and a newborn! I'm really hoping that situps will get rid of it -lets hope I am not too optimistic!

Essie - on the boob front I found that mine went back to their original shape and size once I finished bfing which was a shame as for once I had a cleavage whilst bfing! I did only increase a cup size though so it might be different if you changed more.

Back from the hospital and sitting here with cabbage leaves on my breast!! She said that it was a warning sign to take things easier otherwise I will get mastitis. She refreshed my memory about different feeding positions, told me to apply hot flannel before feeding then cold compress, cabbage leaves, frozen peas after ( not all at once) She advised me to feed lying down at night as it's better for the hormones apparently and more conducive to sleep.The last few nights I'd been attempting to get up and feed in the vain hope that he'd take more and sleep longer, will go back to co-sleeping for the next few weeks I think.She even gave me a cabbage to take away with me, some cold compresses and a muslin cloth!!

So I'm glad I've been and I can try to make things better. Will take it easy today and hope for a better nights sleep.

Hellbell - afterpains - I had tablets for these in hospital.

Congrats to Laura whinegums and BDQ so glad it all went well and that you have you little ones at last

debs sorry you have such a tough time with feeding. Thanks for the tip re feeding lying down. I had stoped too as SJ seemed have the milk coming out of his nose at the same time as he was feeding when I did that and I thought that getting up to feed him was better. But the problem is that it takes me ages to go back to sleep afterwards. Will try feeding lying down again.

Re tummy front, feels like I have lost all sensations in my "pouch" must be because of all the distanded skin. Odd

Right have to go back to my activities. Not content with having a four week old I thought I would spice things up a bit by having loads of visits and a job interview to prepare for next week! Am I mad or am I utterly mad. Answer on a postcard.

Oops, just posted on the antenatal thread. But it was an 'I'm depressed and can't cope' post so feel free to ignore it!

Debs hadn't realised you managed a ten pounder - you're a better woman than I am. (Or maybe just a more sore one? ). I'm at the other end of the spectrum - I think I had the smallest baby, if we don't count Neenz who had twins. Iestyn was 40+4! (Sorry Neenz, nothing personal! DH had a roommate whose wife had twins @ over 8lb each!!)

Essie - so sorry to hear you had such a crap day, if it makes you feel any better I was crying last night too and not just with the pain in my breast. When a baby screams and screams it is soul destroying especially when you're sleep deprived. Have you spoken to anyone irl about how you're feeling?

I remember a time when Tristan was only a few weeks old and Stefan was 2 , Tristan was constantly screaming and Stefan was being a 2 year old, so I put each in their own room and sat and cried on the landing for 10 minutes or so - made me feel so much better.

With Stefan I didn't know anyone in the area with babies so I went to a parent/toddler group from early on and it helped, but I know they can be a bit daunting.

You may not see the effect of the osteopath straight away , but I have faith in them. I wish I had taken Tristan to one as he cried and cried and cried, and now I don;'t know if you remember 6 years on and his speech therapist/osteopath said his speech, digestion and sleeping would have benefitted from seeing a cranial osteopath in those early weeks.

Will also put this on antenatal so you see it.

Don't all these babies have lovely names? I was about to start burbling about my favourites but realised that (a) that would be tactless and (b) there are LOTS of favourites.

My day was nice until bedtime. It is taking hours and hours to get the children to bed and DD1 is rather resistant to getting into bed. Every evening I end up taking paracetamol for a tension headache and wondering if I will ever feel as though I can manage 4 children. Today I have mostly been wearing baby vomit, and I don't think I have anything clean to wear tomorrow so I will probably wear the same thing again, by which time the vomit will be crusty.

I am having back problems, I suspect because of my dodgy stomach muscles. Is anyone else having back problems and do they have any recommendations?

Morning Rolf -lol about the garlic!! Hope you found something clean to wear today otherwise the weight of crusty vomit down your front won't help the back problem.

We had a better night, Ethan did a 4 hour session in between feeds - yippee and then we co-slept so fed pretty constantly from 4 onwards. Boob still very sore but not as bad, just plucking up courage to feed him again from that side.
