Holy Communion for children at non denominational school

My DS (2.9) and DD (0.6) are both baptised Catholic. My DH is a non believer, and while he is happy for his kids to be raised Catholic, he really doesn't want them to go to a Catholic school. If they went to a non denom, how would they take the sacraments then, does anyone know? Is it possible? I have started to worry about this now you see!

They would go to Mass at your local RC church.

I work in a Catholic school and we have Mass about twice a year, and we don't have any catechetical education at school. Catholic children would make their First Holy Communion in their local RC church following appropriate instruction.

Its normal for the church to run classes. My friend's son is at the local C of E school. He made his first communion in the RCC last year

First communion classes are done through the parish these days, not the schools (in the UK anyway, think it's different in Ireland). If your dc aren't in the catholic school they just do communion preparation at the church with everybody else. The only downside is a lot of the other kids will know each other from school but it's likely there'll be others in the same situation.

Well actually I meant by attending church/church ran classes you would be able to do them?

TS&P - thanks.
Cargirl - a sacrament is a sacred rite like baptism or holy communion. You need to learn about them before you can take them, so you can't really do them at church.

My dd is at a CofE school as there is no local catholic school, you just make them through the church who will run classes/

What are sacrements? Why can't they do things when you attend church?
