Would you go to a festival 33 weeks pregnant?

So I’ve booked a festival in the lake district it’s a Thursday - Monday (obviously booked it when I was pregnant)

I have two children 5&8 we have been quite a few times, it’s camping too.

I feel like I shouldn’t be going however feel bad as going with a few other families one of which has kids similar age to mine so feel bad letting them down!

I have just got to the 12 week point scan next week.

has anyone been to a festival pregnant did you enjoy? Obviously it is a family friendly festival so it’s not mental.

what would you do? I would obviously have to be sober too hahaha

I would but once the morning sickness had passed I felt perfectly well during my pregnancy and didnt need the toilet more than normal. I was lucky. As long as I wasn't having to sleep or sit on the ground I would have been fine. But, if you dont want to or will feel uncomfortable, then don't go.

Buffypaws · 07/03/2026 07:49

lol it usually gets me from Friday to Monday but still have to pee ofc 😂

wheelbarrow and husband for carrying!

but if you don’t fancy it already, maybe just sell your tickets. I’m sure your friend will understand. Maybe she’ll be able to find someone else to take your tickets off you and go with her.

I haven’t been to a festival for 12 years so I probably have a really romanticised view at this point.

VividDeer · 07/03/2026 07:52

It would be a no from me

Wanttohelpbuthow · 07/03/2026 07:54

I went to Glasto at 8 months pregnant and had a great time! Different but still fun!!

All pregnancies are different, though. I’d have been fine with my first, but had SPD with the second and needed crutches. I’d never have fitted in a portaloo with the second anyway - he was HUGE.

I went to one when I was pregnant and I struggled but I had a crappy blow up bed that kept going down, so I was really sore. I would make sure you've got your sleeping situation really sorted.

Also another thing to think about is the heat, the last two years the festivals I've been to in the summer have been very hot, there was very little shade. Although it might be a little cooler in the lake district.

Take a festival trolley to cart all your stuff around. You can also stick the kids in when they get tired. We don't go without one now!

OP I love a festival and camping but this really would be a hard no from me

DappledThings · 07/03/2026 09:14

I went to one at 17 weeks and it was mostly absolutely fine. But I did end up with a UTI after trying to hold on to not go to the toilet in the night. I love camping and festivals but at 33 weeks no chance I'd have coped with an airbed.

MmeWorthington · 07/03/2026 09:26

I would have been fine with this, especially in a camper van rather than a tent.

We’re in a tent unfortunately

My mobility started to go then but I would just do it

JessicaBrassica · 07/03/2026 10:23

I went at 36w with a 2yo.

Camped Friday night. Discovered that when I was 4 stone heavier than usual (and therefore heavier than DH) I pushed all the air from my side of the bed onto his. He had a bouncy air bed and I slept on the floor.

I was tired the next day. Too lazy to keep walking miles to the toilet so drank very little. I was sick for the first time in that pregnancy.
We had friends nearby so I ended up kipping on their sofa on Saturday night so I could return on Sunday, bright eyed, bushy tailed and ready to party!

I think so much depends on how you feel. And that is hard to predict.
Could you glamp rather than camp?

Edited

I’m not sure about the glamping I know it would be quite a bit more to upgrade our tickets though that’s if we could get one as it has sold out.

defo got some thinking to do x x

If you are going to be on your feet a lot then id recoma shooting stick, a walking stick with a flip up saddle, you can lean it anywhere and take the weight off your feet. Took one to Chelsea flower show when I was heavily pregnant

CocoaTea · 07/03/2026 14:34

I went camping at 33 weeks. It was fine - it was nice to spend time together before baby came. Definitely take a she-wee and/or portable toilet though.

Theonebutnotonly · 07/03/2026 14:37

Personally I wouldn’t. I couldn't face the thought of lack of comfort, too much standing, night-time weeing and queues for toilets, etc. But maybe you’re hardier than me!

bowchicawowwow · 07/03/2026 14:43

I’d go. I did Glastonbury at 30 weeks pregnant and a few smaller ones later on in the same summer. Had a great time

365RubyRed · 07/03/2026 14:49

I wouldn't do it. Too much pain for very little gain. You can go to plenty of festivals next summer when your baby can join in the fun. Sell your tickets while you can, and plan something more relaxing for you to do when you're 33 weeks.

AgentPidge · 07/03/2026 19:41

I wouldn't, but then I went into labour at 32 weeks. But that's not the main reason - you really don't want to be roughing it. We went on a canal boat holiday when I was pg. It was awful. I wanted comfort, not peeing in what appeared to be shower cubicle. I was so miserable that DH took me to a hairdresser for a wash & blow dry as a treat.
