Hi I am my parents LPA for finace and property. I have a sibling who has been in trouble with the law. Because of various problems he was causing for my parents. I have had to help the law providing evidence. I also need a DBS enhanced for work. My first dbs took 48 hours my second one after my sibling was arrested and ordered out of parents house took over a month. I had a dream Job lined up but because my dbs was having to be redone that job I fear has fallen through. Worst still I don't know if I'm paranoid but I feel they know some thing is a miss. I feel it's incredibly unfair that a disgruntled sibling can falsely accuse another sibling. I don't live with him I haven't seen him or spoken to him for years. Is this all going to ruin me more than it already has?

My question is will this all show up on my enhanced dbs? The authorities have dismissed all his claims as they know what he is like. I have never been questioned. He has accused everyone and complained about anyone social workers care staff who ever challenges him

Are you saying that your siblings accusations will show up on your DBS? It would only show cautions and convictions.
DBS’s can take an extremely long time. I work in the NHS and I’ve known them take months on some occasions and days on others. All were clean.

Yes that's what I'm very very worried about. My recent employer said it was unusual for my DBS to be taking time and that they are assuming its going through further checks. Just to be clear I have had to work along side the authorities to help my parents. I haven't ever had a caution or conviction or anything. I'm sadly the one caught in the crossfire. I helped and now I'm afraid that because I helped I'm now dragged into the mess. I live a very clean life. And like my basic life. My sibling has always been trouble. Sadly. I know hes called the authorities accising me just to try and gain control which authorities have dropped. I didnt even know he would call the authorities as they never spoke to me about it. It was my parents carers telling me. But I'm upset and devastated that this would now be associated with me. This is probably my darkest time.

When you get the DBS join the update service and then you won't have that issue.

A month isn't bad though. I had a period where it was typically 3 months and having to give them a poke to get on with it. Apparently there was someone with a similar name who was flagged up so they were having to check it wasn't me.

Thanks for your reply. I'm heartbroken to have missed out on the dream job I can only hope that another one at my preferred place turns up. I don't have any relationship with my sibling and helped authorities as I say. As I was asked to. But I suppose all of this may have been flagged up and they are doing extra checks. It's embarrassing but I had to help my elderly parents.
