“Jew” crossed out in school dictionary

I live in London, so school is very multicultural. DC came home this week saying that the word “Jew” had been crossed out in a school dictionary. I’m not sure whether it was found by the teacher or another pupil. I’ve no doubt that school will try to address this, but it seems so dark. This is a primary school.

I feel really uncomfortable not knowing which parents are chatting at the school gates are really harbouring enough hatred at home for a child to do that.

Does the teacher have anything way of knowing who it was?

No. She’s spoken to the class, but realistically it could have been a previous year group.
