We've been asked by the team at Schwartz to find 250 Mumsnetters to try their new range of 2in1 recipe mixes. Here's what they say: "The new 2in1 range offers two easy to use recipe mix sachets in one handy pack: one sachet flavours the main dish whilst the other contains a seasoning for a complementary side dish or topping. With five different varieties to choose from, and an easy recipe on the back of each pack, this is a great way to try out new dishes or transform an existing family favourite from ordinary to special."

This product test is open to all UK Mumsnetters with at least one child living at home. Please note all the recipes feature chicken so with regret are not suitable for vegetarians or vegans - sorry!

If you are selected to take part, you'll be sent all of the five 2in1 sachets and asked to include these in your regular family meals (please note you will have to buy the other ingredients yourself):

RRP £1.29 per sachet.

We want you to try the sachets over the course of 3 weeks and add feedback to the thread each time you use one of the recipe mixes (so please only apply if you'll be able to try at least three of the recipes!). Testers will also be required to upload pictures of their creations to the feedback thread.

Everyone who is selected and who adds at least three sets of feedback to the thread will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £500 John Lewis voucher!

So if you'd like to take part, please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Just menu planned for next week and done a shopping list and realised I've not planned for any of the meals! And I've not received the sachets yet so fingers crossed for tomorrow.
Must remember to buy chicken Smile
I'm going shopping in the morning, do the recipes ask for any specific ingredients?

Hi, I got an email saying I was chosen, but haven't been able to find the feedback thread. Sachets not arrived yet, but I've stocked up on yoghurt, cheese and chicken! I saw the tuna alternative for the pasta bake, so think I will try that instead of the chicken.

Oh, and Sparklingbrook I'll be using my pyrex too, probably. Either that or my Nan's old enamelled tin which is probably older than me!

DD is 21 months and is being fussy at the moment, so I'm hoping something new will encourage her to eat her dinner. Sad

They have arrived! I can honestly say I have never been this excited about a packet mix. I think we'll be starting with the crunchy chicken bites and maybe the pasta bake because I forgot to buy the natural yoghurt for the other recipes

Mine arrived in an old torn envelope this morning. Think I shall do one of the chicken bites things tonight, as thats what we have all the ingredients for, but my dip will be made with soya yoghurt as its all we have. Luckily I have a nice new kitchen table to display my culinary skills on Grin.

I did the med pasta one last night with tuna, the rebel that I am! Tonight we have chicken in so I think it may be southern style.

I've just done my grocery order. It's got rather a lot of chicken in it - including lots of mini fillets :)

Sister was it nice with tuna? I was going to try it that way instead of chicken. Or did you not want to post spoilers? Have I got to wait for the feedback thread? Grin

Oooh I don't know about spoilers goodjam Wink

It was very tasty with tuna, I enjoyed it.

Blatherskite · 20/06/2013 21:32

I was thinking I might do that with Tuna too. It's going to be a seriously chicken-y week otherwise

SisterMatic · 20/06/2013 22:00

You can also substitute chicken for fish another one of the mixes to make fish fingers which I may also try.

Report
Blatherskite · 20/06/2013 22:30

Yes, I think it's the garlic and herb one. I think that will probably work better with chicken though.

fuzzpig · 20/06/2013 22:52

Mine haven't arrived yet but I have ordered all other ingredients for tomorrow's delivery so I hope they get here soon!

Might use tuna in the pasta bake, and we may be using turkey for a couple of the other ones.

I wonder if you could substitute quorn for chicken in some of these - the pasta one maybe? I might try that to get a bit more variety. Otherwise it's a lot of chicken!

Report
Theimpossiblegirl · 22/06/2013 20:11

Having just cooked the pasta bake, I think it would work just as well with Quorn, tuna and/or Mediterranean vegetables. Off to work out how to add pics to my feedback...
